Just wondering what everyones thoughts are out there... Obviously we can trade FEV which some people want to do others don't... but who really can we trade and get decent return value for... even some value....

cheers

Ackland might get us packet of McDonalds cookies?!
Saddington maybe a Big Mac Meal?

Carrazzo
Houlihan
Thornton
Walker
Bentick
Bit rough but there the only players we could trade that have something clubs are intersted in and that we can afford to lose

Only ones with value at the trading table would be Thornton and Walker. Would not like to see Walker leave. As for Thornton can't see him being traded now

If we are trying to poach a big name player then Walker may be the one to leave, but I'd rather keep him

Fev
thornton
carazzo
bentick
stevens
russell

not much else which would give us good value without ripping apart the team structure (yes I know trading Fev does that to a small extent)

Fev is the only player with some value that I would consider trading. Walker is not going anywhere! Lucky to get 3rd rounders for the likes of Carrazzo, Russell etc.. May as well hang on to them.

Fev is my choice of the week
would love to see him traded for either pav or john-o brown
but i feel we would have to give up more

a friend proposed the idea of a trade involving

fev + 1st round draft pick
to freo

for

Pav and Warnock

Does anyone think we may be a chance at going for a deal like this
i may be dreaming
but fev is a chance to win the coleman and freo culture would love him

Exactly.

I'll set camp atop PP and pick off anybody that looks at Walker funny.

I want Walker at Carlton he bust his balls for the club. The rest can go Fev included, but like has been mentioned already only Stevens and Fev would get us anything.

Walker isnt leaving
im praying that carlton arent that stupid
being at the match on sunday i was amazed at the pace he had
i think will be a huge asset to the team with him and armfield streaming off the HB line

Too much sense. :thumbsu:

tell your story 'walking...'
or should i say walker.
Why is everyone so obsessed with this guy.?
If he's that good...and we've been doing ok without him,
wouldn't he be perfect trade bait.?
Some people seem to think good trades are just junk players
hanging by a thread.
I'm sure other teams know we are sitting on untapped
gold with saddo and hackland, and they can't wait to exchange
all their guns to get their hands on them.

Gee ...seeing as you put it like that ..lets shop Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, and Kruezer around ..we should be able to grab some real talent with those lot .

Nick Stevens

IMO a club with a glaring deficiency of experienced leaders such as Melbourne could be interested and they will have plenty of picks in the draft to play with.

Their young on-ball brigade would also benefit immensely from the inclusion of a classy player like Nick.

I like Walker but his kicking will mean he will not be a AFL top 20 player.

I believe Walker and our first round pick will go to WC for D. Kerr who is one of the top 5 players in the AFL.

Judd, Kerr, Stevens, Gibbs, Murphy, Simpson - This midfield will be the best in the comp!

Add improving ruckman and we are a Premiership team.

Like i said, we've been doing OK without him...
With that said, i thought perhaps you may have worked out
that i meant the current team stays as it is....

Trade Bait:

Good Trades:
Carrazzo - Can get the footy a lot and play defencively, kicking isn't very good.
Bentick - Can't kick or run and isn't quick enough with his hands, gets caught too often for holding the ball and lacks consistancy. Established centerman and is capable of playing good footy, is strong and a good tackler.
Cloke - Competative in the ruck but doesn't win many hitouts, covers the ground well and can get loose and find the footy. Can't kick for goal, can't mark overhead or in a contest and is very slow. Not tall enough or strong enough against top opponents. Sh!t defencive game.
Bannister - Good versatile defender, we may have others now who are ahead of him, wouldn't let him go cheap. Lacks polish and vision.
Houlihan - Too slow and a poor tackler. Is a good kick and can play forward or back.
Russell - Can play anywhere, good athlete. Terrible disposal in all aspects and lacks footy smarts and composure.
Wiggins - Lacks pace and is one dimensional. Fails to get posessions from sources other than marks and often is in the wrong position and goes missing. Is too small for the style of footy he plays. Has great hands and marks well overhead.
Fisher - Can take a grab but can't kick at all. Is alright at ground level but is too light, can't handle contact, doesn't present very well, is he better than Edwards?...

Probably Not:
Ackland - Too slow, too short, doesn't cover enough ground and work hard enough to find space. Time is up.
Anderson - Others seem to be in ahead of him, would be a valuable player in some other teams that require a medium defender.
Benjamin - Can't kick and doesn't sound like a ball magnet. Has pace.
Blackwell - Great ball magnet in the VFL, probably too small for AFL, not what we need at Carlton, would love to see him play though.
Edwards - I'd like to see him play instead of Fisher as he can kick. Not tall enough or strong enough for key position in AFL. I think has more potential than Fisher.
Hartlett - Can't kick, too light, doesn't present, has done nothing.
Jackson - Would love to see him fill out and replace Bentick as he is better with his hands than Bentick and quicker. Stared once in the AFL and showed really good potential. Isn't big and strong enough but might get there. Might be worth shopping him around.
Pfeiffer - Too small and too slow, has the skills but not what we require.

The others are untouchable and required players.
