Lecras is weighing up retiring according to jakovich on the radio. Said he wouldnt want to play for east perth and knows he may n9t last another year.

If Mark is willing to give it up that easily, then it explains a hell of a lot.

Our perceived small forward problem is because our midfield is average, have a look at the odd games our midfield wins and our small forwards go alright on those days.
Yeah but a genuine crumber would get us an additional goal or two in those sort of games. Our smalls arent the crumbing type and go missing in these curcumstances. Im not saying crumbers dont ho missing (eddi betts goes missing a bit crows get dominanted) but they can bob here and there and spark something.

Pretty pathetic really, not willing to fight for his spot.

Probably a reason why he wasn't dropped - seems like he would have just sooked it.
This is what happens when you don't make any tough calls early on, players become entitled and think they play by a different set of rules.

Seems it was Considered that at 24 , Adamson ran out of time to make the transition to AFL .

Think he got a pretty good contract for the two years so not all bad for Adamson , would have done well financially .

I would be sceptical of something said by a radio commentator as it may not be entirely accurate so maybe hold off putting the boots in just yet

Agree with reimersworstguy - it wouldn't be the worst thing.

I can see Lecca disappearing completely form the AFL spotlight too.

However all speculation as such, will hold off until something more concrete comes through.

First week of the pre-season and already the club doing its best circus impersonation with the Adamson two-step. We fans sit here hoping those who are making these calls know what they are doing but then again #JettaforBrown #Lecrastothemidfield I'm not so sure anymore.

F**k me, some of you blokes are unbelievable.
People have been calling for him to be delisted or retire and the first time the slightest hint that he might retire you and others are in here taking pot shots. Maybe he's just had enough of having to put up with crap from morons.

Why be annoyed at lecras? He has been a great servant of our club.

Why can I not be annoyed at him (and the club)?
Doesn't mean I don't respect what he's done for the club, but right now he's become a liability for the team, and the year he had was very poor (by his standards).

Clearly this year he deserved to be dropped multiple times (much like WB did with Stringer) yet it never happened.

Now I hear that he'd sook it if he played for EP (apparently), which would be a very poor way for a player to act.

Who cares if he sooked? He should have been dropped anyway. He can sook all he likes.

I think it's a good cut to the list and if Lecca does retire than that's 9 spots to fill .I think we might add a few mature recruits onto the list and even it out with youngsters .

Yeah lets just play players who are so out of form it isn't funny because they played well 12 month ago.

Want to progress as a team you need to make tough calls.

Once again, I come back to 2015 AA Stringer who was dropped by the WB.

He was on the rookie list so he would be on the absolute minimum. Not sure how earning around $60,000 or so is doing well financially?

I think he was worth preserving with but who knows whether we will ever find out.

I hope he stays for another year, even if he plays 50% of the year at EP,we haven't got a replacement yet and when on is valuable.
Also we will need to have a few delistees next year too

Don't think anyone can begrudge LeCras retiring. Has been a fantastic player for us. Copped a lot of shit this year, and a lot of it was justified... And yet he still almost had 40 goals to his name. No doubt he really got the Ski's out a few times, but if a player has a poor season and puts 40 through the big sticks then he's got a lot going for him. Could've kicked another 100 goals if not for injuries from 2012 to 2014.

.
Petrie is as much as ruck man as I am a super model, he's had 13 hitouts this year, that's right 13 hit outs for the entire year. To put that into perspective for you that is less than Fraser McInnes and Elliott Yeo.
Yeh, doubt we'll go there. 13 hitouts.
You put that into perspective, I'd like to shame him even more.
187cm inside mid Ollie Wines had 69 hitouts this year.

Yeah i would have liked a mod but after years of neglecting small crumbing forwards, this is a step in the right direction.
So Bolton with our first,Ryan with our second, waterman 3rd and fisher 4TH.
Cameron ,banfield, and perry on the rookie list

If Mark wants to play AFL he has to wear the fact that he might have to put an EP jumper on when form is not strong I agree on that.
But if he feels like his bets footy is behind him and can see himself being a back up player and spending the majority of his games playing for East perth then he would be doing the right thing.
I am not sure if you know about the deep rivalry between West Perth and East perth but there is no way Mark will play for East Perth. Ashton Hams chose the same path knowing he was going to be a back up player and said he would not play for East Perth and wanted to play for his own club South Fremantle.
Mark simply has to decide if he wants to be a first choice AFL player and put in the work needed. He is still young enough to do that, if he doesn't then he will go and play for his own club West Perth. It is one of the problems with the alignment.

44 goals from Lecca wasn't too bad a season considering he played through the middle as well ..

It's actually his lowest avg. goals per game since 2006

Stats also misrepresented due to getting the skis on against bottom teams.

While against good opposition or away from home...

Rd. 2 Hawks:
16 touches, 0 goals

Rd. 4 Sydney:
13 touches, 0 goals

Rd. 6 Geelong:
11 touches, 1 goal

Rd. 9 Port Adelaide:
12 touches, 0 goals

Rd. 12 Adelaide
12 touches, 0 goals

Rd. 19 Collingwood
9 touches, 0 goals

People want this team to actually compete, yet stick up for someone who is the epitome of our issues, a downhill skier who (while a great servant of the club) is past his best and needs to be either given a massive rocket or sent packing.
