yes lecras lacks defensive pressure but at least he average over 3 tackles a game in the last few years. ryan averages just around 2 tackles.
He's young with huge potential. Le Cras is pretty much done. Time for change.

I have this feeling that David Swallow will be wearing our colours next season. West Coast have probably given him an offer after all the turmoil that's come out of GC.

Future 1st + 2nd for David Swallow and one of GC's second rounders?
north are keen on him and he probably has intentions of joining his bro.

i agree with change but my point was that he wont play round one unless his defensive game improves. I hope lecras retires and hill never gets a go.

His bro who is about to lose the captaincy to Ziebell (surely) and is surely going to be phased out sooner rather than later?

I vaguely remember someone saying there is less tackles recorded at WAFL level for a verity of reasons.
Because there's less tackles perhaps?

well north a still keen on him and they won't get rid of him with him still in the frame.

Can see why rebuilding North offer unders for Wells. Either they get him cheap-ish, or force him to take a decent offer elsewhere and get compensation. It's win-win for a rebuilding team, they have no reason to fight for his signature. The downside of them losing him in rebuild mode is pretty slim. Wonder if AFL would be pretty happy to incentivize middling teams to rebuild.

I love watching Wells as much as Carbine Chaos loves the untapped potential of Adamson. Would be so rad to see him in the wings. Just thinking about it I can't even ughhhh

I think we have a bit of an advantage over Norf. David gets to go home, would probably get a better deal with the list space we have, and would be playing in a premiership next year.

Norf have his brother.

I think we have a pretty good chance.

TBH im not keen to part ways with our first pick for another injury riddle player. Unless suns want mackenzie, im not willing to part ways with it. Like i have said before, we need to have one eye on the future. From now on we should only use our first pick for genuine A graders who are healthy.

I thought he was aiming for a comeback in the final game of this year. If so, then he would probably be alright come round 1 next season.

Whilst I'm drunk and ranting - yes, I have now drank everything in the house since Thursday, thanks for asking - I find the hesitation on picking up Wells simply staggering.

What, do we have a bunch of up-and-comers who will be demanding a significant payrise soon after a breakout year, should we save any remaining TPP for this? It might be the scotch talking, but can't imagine any of our players are underpaid right now. Apart from Nicnat, JK, Gaff, Shue, gov, wtf else are we spending our coin on? If we can't afford to splash out on a free agent, it's not because it's a poor investment: it's because our list managment team have invested so heavily in potato that they should potato-sacked. If we can afford Wells we have to go for it.

Is it dangerous to take the free hit on taking a free agent going to fill the main-list spot with an injury-ridden player, a move that deprives some young hopeful the chance of fulfilling their AFL career? Putting aside the empty spot on the main list we had with 2016, that promissory spot open for any of our exciting rookie crew *cough*, it is hard to see how an entire 2017-2018 seasons of a fourth or fifth round draft pick this year will be worth more than what Wells could bring if he's fit enough to play 50% of games in that time.

Roll the ****ing dice Vozzo, give me something better than another dropped Darling mark to jack off to plz

Even that would explain the difference if the brand of football was a little different. I'm not sure if they had a harsher definition of what constituted a tackle or what, but I wouldn't think it was a fair comparison to make or to pay too much attention to.

I was being a bit of a smart arse but I do have a faint recollection that the definition of a tackle was slightly different in some way

Also like you alluded to, the brand of football in WAFL is different - less congestion and contests mean less tackles
