How can Carrazo be "bottom 6" if he finished, what was it, 4th i think, in our B&F?
McKernan and Whitnall won a B&F's just prior to departure.

I put Carrazzo in our bottom 6 (just my opinion) due to his average disposal and inability to shut down small forwards.
i.e. not a first rate midfielder, not a first rate defender.

Who would your bottom 6 our regular 22 be?

Who would your bottom 6 our regular 22 be?

Russell, Wiggins, Cloke, Bentick/Hadley, Hampson/Browne/Armfield when they play.

Just to name a few.

Don't believe Carrazzo is in it, at all personally.

Was brilliant in the latter half of the season. Disposal lifted, evasive skills improved, and did very well in defensive roles when needed.

Hence regular 22.
Cloke? Surprising. Good mark, good field and goal kick ......100% effort. I wouldn't agree with him in our bottom 6.

Our best 22 in no particular order:
Judd, Stevens, Fev, Scotland, Waite, Kreuzer, Gibbs, Murphy, Carrazzo, Bentick, Fisher, Bower, Jamison, Thornton, Russell, Simpson, Cloke, Betts, Grigg, Walker, Wiggins, O'hAilpin.

.....and I did have Hampson in there as well intially, but he probably doesn't quite get in for the sake of the arguement.......I'd probably have Fisher.

Betts would be close at times, but otherwise I don't think I'm too far off.

Army and Browne to challenge for Carrazzo's spot, Hadley for Benticks.
Warnock in, O'hAilpin/Wiggins out depending on team balance and Clokes form up forward.

Is that bottom six based on current performance or bottom six going forward? Think your being a bit harsh on Simpson.

My thinking is in three areas.
Hardness at the footy.
Consistency of footskills.
Mental aptitude - i.e. decision making and consistency of application of skills.

I love all the guys I have named for various reasons, but in particluar their ability to consitently execute skills and hit targets let them down.

Probably a bit harsh on Wiggo too.

Point is, too mix it with the like of the Hawks, these guys either need to improve their ability to win the ball and hit targets, or they will move aside for players that can.

The Hawks aare tough, but they don't miss targets either. Not turning the ball over often is a massive advantage.

My point originally was that ROK won't magically improve these guys and hence won't fix our fortunes. Whether they are exactly our bottom 6 or not is besdies the point to some degree and always open for deabte.

Our bottom 6, whoever they are exactly, need to get much better for us to win.:thumbsu:

Cloke for mine would easily be in the bottom 6 at our club. Can't get the tap downs to our mids and exploited due to his pace.

I mentioned the others as you mentioned Hampson, but fair enough.

Still wouldn't have Carrazzo in that bottom 6, nor simpson.

Now that i look at it.

Ohailpin, Wigggins, Russell, Cloke, Bentick are 5.

I rate Grigg highly but i also wouldn't have him ahead of Carrazzo, same goes for Thornton and Betts.

Fair enough.

You could have an endless debate on who they are really, and to be honest I didn't put a lot of thought into the names. You do have some valid points their.

I guess my point was they need to improve or move for us to win a flag and recruiting one "gun" player in ROK......or Judd last year won't change the abilities of those bottom 6......whoever they may be.:thumbsu:

I believe the same. Need to keep building on what we've got.

It'd be like putting icing on a half finished cake.

Personally i'd like to see the club chase the following players in this order;

* Kosi
* ROC
* Didak
* Warnock

Not sure whether or not Kosi would be a possibility but i think he'd really help out fev and i think we'd probably get him reasonably cheaply. Not sure his age, but i believe well be a strong contender for a flag in 2 or 3 years, so anyone who will be playing good football in that period is worth a shot IMO.

Apart from those 4 players i wouldn't be looking at anyone else.

i think saint wont let kozi go cheaply at all... i would prob say you would have to give us a pick around 20 and maybe fisher as a sweetener

You think they were in our bottom 6 the year they won the B&f? Where did they come when they departed? carrazzo played on small forwards most of the year and came 4th in the B&f. Do you think that might say something about his inability to shut down small forwards or that he's in the bottom 6?

I dare say Whitnall would have barely polled a vote the year he left. McKernan I'm not sure.

Do I need to say again:

No i'm blinded by all your bold, big letters. No need to shout :rolleyes:

Well since you so clearly missed the point the first time, and continued to debate the ins and outs of who might be in the bottom 6, I think a good shout was enitrely necessary.

Had you read and understood that the first time I posted it you could have saved us several posts.:thumbsu:
