Feel like keeping him company?

I think you will have trouble moving Sherman on, due to his high $ contract.

I cant see another club taking up a n existing 2 year deal at $400K per season....its just way too much for a player of shermans abilities.

lol.

as usual you have nfi at what you're saying.

Surely you wouldn't trade away your best young midfielder.

"Brisbane is understood to be entertaining trading midfielder Daniel Rich to West Coast for the Eagles' No. 1 pick in the national draft - the No. 4 pick overall."

Just the fact this is mentioned should send shivers down your spine..

Yeah would be utterly stupid. Am hoping this is just Gary Lyon bullshit (he started the rumour) that got out of hand.

Seconded. Why would you even entertain those thoughts. Rich is an 'untouchable'.

I will pose the following three options why Brisbane may be entertaining the idea.

1. This is just Gary Lyon bullshit (he started the rumour) that got out of hand

2. Voss has lost his mind and wants to play more Supercoach with our list

or

3. Gumby has got a handshake agreement at end of Rich’s contract (next year) Rich to go to GWS. West Coast knowing of Brisbane’s predicament has shrewdly come in with an offer. If Brisbane does not take West Coast’s offer, next year the compensation for Rich may not be as lucrative.
(Will the desire to go home be sufficient for Rich to break his word with GWS)

Edit; No inside info. Just WA talk.

Elephant in the room? - there is always the possibility of the wanna go home factor with any player - it is a bigger risk for the Lions than most clubs with only 7 players out of the 36 currently on the list being Queenslanders.

I would think there would be very little in it. Lots of rubbish talk because of our salary cap etc etc. The Drummond demanding more money report was blown out of the water. Sometimes the media just like to make stuff up to get people talking.

Besides all that, the initial wording was Brisbane was entertaining trading Rich to WC. That isn't really news, i would think every club 'entertains' trading any player depending what's on offer. Doesn't mean you are looking to trade or are going to trade.

We are easy targets at the moment, weak culture and unrest in the camp.

Journo's are going to continue to have a field day with us until trade week is finished!

Agree acuguy, after being super active last year, having a crap year this year, have players leave for another team and having salary cap pressure as well as being the club that has Fev on the playing list, we are always going to cop some BS this off season.

That's it guys agree and they say we are wooden spoon favourites next year.

The only team not to lose to Collingwood when were fit and firing we can beat anyone.

To hell with trade week all these sooks leaving can get stuffed too.

Most are weak links that are holding us down anyway Justin Sherman what has he done this year have fun at your new club.

mickyblueeyes, justin has been the scapegoat for people like you on this link all year ,so you have got a bit heavy for him to carry and he will be happy to have a good time away from you lot . i keep reading the same tripe every day get over it and move on :o

granny if Justin has had issues dealing with the criticism that he has gotten this year from the Brisbane supporters then Melb is going to eat him alive. It might not all have been his fault but he has played nowhere near his potential.

He got a lot of slack I thought (like Rischitelli did for a lot of years) and most of the main criticism has come after it has been announced that he wants to leave the club. He has been in the league for quite a few years now and has had two seasons where he has played even close to his potential. If he is blaming others still he needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and realise that that is just a poor excuse and he has ability to succeed entirely in his hands. He did not run hard enough, did not get to good spots and when he got it he used it terribly. Did he go away and do the offseason conditioning program like Rockliff did last offseason - I am thinking not. Did he work on his skills which has been a problem for years - it certainly didn't look like it.

To quote a great philospher - suck it up princess.

If Sherman can't handle the load on this link God help him at some of the other clubs. Unfortunately there will always be knocker especially if you aren't performing - hazard of the job. He should be able to rise to the top and do what he was drafted for (and paid for) - get a kick and be hell bent on winning a flag for the Lions.

I always thought putting on the Lions jumper was an honour not a right

shermo can take all and everything you lot can throw at him ,too bad you cant do the same. yes he did all he was required to do preseason and more ,you dont know the half of it ,so please dont presume too.

Whether Shermans work ethic, etc was adequate I don't know. What I do
know is this season he was very poor (except a couple of games). His output means that I am more than happy to see him move on.

Selwood is well known to have a brilliant attitude but if you don't perform on the field you have to move on...

What do you mean by that?

Appreciate your position, like many I would love to know more as it might give an insight into exactly what is going on inside.

You don't have three guys walk out for no reason.

Two of them getting a swag load of cash is a pretty good reason which would have nothing to do with what is happening inside the club.

Also the fact that GC are also poaching current and exLions staff and players to be staff down there also might be a factor in Rischa and Brennan being recruited and willing to go.

Sherman has had a personality conflict with one or more people within the club and wants to leave.

All have reasons I just think they are different reasons and at least two of them have little or nothing to do with culture and everything to do with filling up their bank accounts.

Do I think that everything is honkey dorey inside the club atm - hell no. Do I think it is as bad as has been portrayed - no. Do I think Fevola is the devil and is responsible for all the world's ills - maybe he is the devil but you can't blame everything on him (somethings yes but what is being blamed on him is stupidity itself).

Most of the times the most simple answer is the correct one. No big consiracy going on, just the fact that 2 players have gone to another club for much better deals. The other has been on the outer a little, and would be no big surprise if they left.

The GC coming on the scene was always going to hurt us, not just in players but also staff. This is the first time players in QLD have had the luxury of having another team to play for without moving to another state.

Im the same as Quigley, is everything at the club going well, heck no. Otherwise we wouldn't be running a club review and replacing staff / getting new people in. But is it the doom and gloom everyone makes it out to be, no. Many here have been complaining about several parts of the club, from the board members down to the fitness staff, and now that these things are changing and getting looked it, everyone cries conspiracy because everyone is leaving.

This clean out could the the healthiest thing for our club.

Gav Urqhart? Was a big wrap on this kid back in his junior days.

I think the only time I remember him playing in a game I was watching was his debut where he was very impressive. Would certainly be the type of player that would fill a need, whether he is of the quality is up for smarter people than I.
