I actually think the Gc will be pretty resonable after watching the lions fall apart and largely due to the GC's recruiting actions

Seriously? This is a business, everyone goes as hard as they can. GC will give as little as possible, regardless of who they're trading with. They'll have every player agent with a client wanting a move coming to them asking what they'll pay, and every club with whatever players they want to get rid of asking what they are willing to give. They have more money, more trading power than any other team in this draft, and will have the pick of the lot.
Brennan is the first player to declare his desire to be traded to GC (as he can't be taken directly). There's bound to be more - and if better options come up, the value of Brennan drops...

If we get Tambling Voss should get sacked straight away.
I actually wouldn't mind a direct swap for Sherman. Both are similar players and both are coming off poor years after a good 2009. Tambling is still only 24 and could do very well in a new setting where the pressure of being taken instead of Buddy is not on him. His kicking is also better than Sherman's which is something to consider. He has a lot of talent and I wouldn't have a problem buying him low this year.

Yep.

Good points.

Probably go for a straight swap for Sherman but if we can get a early second round pick for Shermo i'd take that first. This draft seems to have a lot of good young players and i rather take a quality 18 year old and develop him.

I'd throw a 3rd or 4th rounder at Tambling and see what happens.

in answer to flying belgium ,you have to be passed the ball as a team member ,not ignored because of some players who want to play as individuals.and jackess .dont you read the papers shermo was not on your huge cash programs that you all think he was.i am not octogarian either.

I hope Shermo stays n hits form next season. He is very much a confidence player and I think his potental far out ways his market value.

granny - he might have been overlooked a bit but he was also not open enough. When he did get the ball he did not use it well which might have contributed to him being overlooked in the future. Shermo has had a couple of very nice seasons and he has a lot of potential and is one who I think has really sufferred from the lack of skill work we do. Hopefully that will change this offseason and we can see him back to his best and with his confidence up. When he is running through our midfield it certainly adds a dimension to the team.

My reading of the situation is that the relationship between player and coach is not what is should be. Shermo appears to be constantly under the pump and going 120% to prove himself.

He needs a word of encouragement from the coach, be told he will have a few games to play the same role rather than in and out all the time.

We know he has the ability.

Perhaps royboy but he was given a damn good run this year getting games when his performances probably didn't warrant them. He had a lot of continuity for most of the season and didn't perform. The relationship might not have been fantastic (don't know) but Voss did give him every chance to perform on the park.

sorry quigley, but time has run out for the lions just put a few noses out of joint that is all.

No doubt he had chances, but he played like he had all the pressure in the world on him - you could literally see it on his face. Needs to take more time which would appear to be a confidnce related thing.

afraid so. everyone talked the talk ,so he is going to walk the walk.

Sad to hear, another embarrassment to our club. Any wonder we lost so many games - the morale up their must be non existent. Reeks of St Kilda 99/00 when Alves got knifed and Leading Teams left, players lost their voice and dictators took over with Tim Watson the ultimate scapegoat.

I always thought with a bit of support and encouragement he could have been a really consistent and damaging player for us.:(

Like quigs said, to my eyes he didn't put himself in the right places enough.

Don't get me wrong, like a few on here I've met Justin before and have a hell of a lot of time for him. It just didn't look like his heart was in it this year. I think I can guess why.

If true… swap our left-footed, on-baller with plenty of stamina, for a similar in Bachar Houli?

Just for everyone who was looking at Tambling or Houli

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/tigers-in-hunt-for-bachar-houli/story-e6frf9jx-1225924921375

RICHMOND is poised to acquire Essendon midfielder Bachar Houli, possibly in a swap for Richard Tambling.

Tambling's future at Punt Rd appears all but over following interest from several clubs, including Essendon.

Negotiations between the Tigers and Houli's management are well down the track to secure the disgruntled 22-year-old, who failed to play regularly in the past three years at Windy Hill under recently sacked coach Matthew Knights.

Good.

Would rather a pick for the Shermanator.

St Kilda seems a good destination for Sherman to me. He will give them the outside pace and carry that Lovett was supposed to provide and they certainly have the ball winners to give him service forward of the contest.

I'm not nearly as enamoured with Armitage as some others around here are, but if he is still someone the Lions are interested in, Sherman could get the deal done.
