So we are essentially trading a forward who has kicked 50 goals in a year, and our second round pick for Jaksch then.

No crumbing small forwards now. If we get jones and Jaksch our tall forward problem is fixed but will have a small forward problem instead.

Think the "small forward" problem wanted to be evened to medium forwards with the small forward changed up to have midfielders taking that spot and hitting the scoreboard. Thomas, Everitt, Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Yarran
Menzel, Walker will be medium forwards for 2015 and someone like Tutt may be played through there if we take him up but also pushing into the midfield rotations.

Sorry for the intrusion but given your interest in Jones and Tutt and Garlett wanting to go to melbourne what would your thoughts on a three way trade be something like
Carlton Receive: Jones and Tutt Carlton lose: Garlett and pick 45
Dees Receive: Garlett and Picks 6 and 45 Dees: lose Pick 3
Dogs Receive: pick 3 Dogs lose: Jones and Tutt and Pick 6

Tutt doesn't add anything to any trade scenario...if we pick him up it would be a nothing pick. Garlett and 45 for Jones appears to be exactly one Garlett too much.

Our 3rd is #45, their second is #23. Not sure they would go for that. Maybe 3rd, 4th and Garlett for #23, or Robinson and Garlett for #23. #23 and #28 would definitely get it done but I'd want a 3rd back then.

You may well be correct and it wouldn't surprise should we have to add something on top of that pick to get Jaksch over the line.

I am simply going on the assumption that we've offered our 2nd pick and St Kilda have offered theirs. Given that Jaksch has expressed a preference to come to Carlton, you'd think if we got our hands on what is currently pick 23 and offered that, GWS would trade with us rather than accept St Kilda's pick which is just one better than the one we'd be offering.

Yarran and Menzel, backup Ellard. Hawks do okay with creative mid-sized forwards like Breust. Cyril doesn't count, doesn't kick enough goals to be a true small forward.

Sorry but if Garlett and #45 can be used to elevate a pick to #3 then why wouldn't Carlton just do a trade directly with Melbourne and gut the WB out of it ??? That said Melbourne would simply laugh at the idea.

The funny part there is the conformation that even Melbourne is a more attractive club for recruits than *. Sure we all know it is, and why, but confirmation is always amusing ......

I like this idea as Lucas is a good set shot when he is settled, has speed and probably more endurance than JG. Will really miss JG!
