He can play. He's had injuries which has dogged him. At 24, he's another forward ruck option. I'd rather have him then keep Warnock in the reserves and on 350,000+

Living in Adelaide and having watched him play a lot of SANFL he is the last bloke we should look at, I've been following this discussion hoping his name does not get mentioned!!! He has no ability in finding the football and only ever looks OK when he is playing on kids less than half his size!!! The Crows got rid of him for a reason after persevering with him for too long hoping he stood up the AFL level.

WCE traded pick 6 to Collingwood for pick 10 and a second rounder last year.

IF we are trying to get Mitchell, we should see if we could trade pick 6 for something similar and try get Mitchell and Jaksch with those picks.

We are not smart enough to do those sorts of deals.

I was referring more to doing the deals that Collingwood did by giving up a pick and getting a player and a draft pick slightly lower down the order. Of course i was happy with the Docherty deal, which was effectively a swap for Hampson and Everitt was a good deal. I dont think we have been the best club during trade periods in recent years.

That's correct but I can only comment on the current regime. Don't like living in the past....but some just can't help themselves

Same here. The 86 GF loss is the first game I can remember. Slightly more experienced supporters like Thy have had it even better.

Started in '72 as a 5 year old. Old man had me going around in a South jumper (he played for them and i still have a soft spot for the bloods) before he said I could barrack for the Blues if i wanted who had just clipped the Tiges with a spine of Southby, Doull, Armstrong, Walls and Jezza. 7 years later I was privvy to 4 years of wonderful footy by the Blues (79, 80, 81 and 82). 86 was hard to take but it was a good opponent that day, but revenge was soon there and DRJ destroyed 'The Kid' a year later in 87. 95 was a dominant year with the Saints and swans causing a slight hiccup. Again a great spine and even better defence. Our back 6 were awesome, the Duke was the unsung hero IMO and No.s 2 and 4 were just superb. 99 sucked, but I would never change a thing. I'm a close friend of Tom Alvin from our hometown and I bleed blue. Carlton isnt a team, its a family.

No thankfully. Its hard to forget some of these terrible trades as we are still suffering the consequences now and will do so for a few years to come.

Even the general critique of Carlton's recent recruiting fails to mention that there was a massive overhaul in recent years.

Anyway. All that matters is that the current people are in charge and not the past, and that Loguidice and Trigg have both said they want to help improve it even more.
