Disgruntled Docker Steven Koops is expected to join, while forward David Haynes is still attracting interest from Geelong. Ruckman Dean Cox has been taken off the market. Phil Read being offered as trade bait.

Fremantle Docker, Steven Koops, is set to find a new AFL club in the Western Bulldogs.

It is expected that Koops will be traded tomorrow to the Bulldogs for a draft pick.

Phil Read has been linked to a number of clubs as has Docker Steven Koops, who is keen to move on, with speculation that he will join the Western Bulldogs for pick No. 19.



Thats 2 for Bulldogs and 1 for West Coast.

not really interested in Koops, so i'm not worried if he doesn't come over.

I always thought that if we got inolved in the trade week, i thought it'd be better off to go for something big, such as a big name backman (Hay) or forward (Ottens) but the odds off that we're always slim.

Yeah, I agree mostly. Unless Geelong have a brain explosion and offer us pick 7 for Haynes or something, (hey, apparently Mark Bolton is worth pick 6 + Mark Alvey, so by that reckoning Haynes should be worth at least two top 10 draft picks ) I'm happy to walk away from this trade week with our list as is.

If there are no good deals on the table then so be it, but I still think our club might have something in the works late tomorrow- There's usually a bit of a last minute fire sale of uncontracted players when the accountants tote up the salaries and realise they are having salary cap issues. Might be able to get someone then on the cheap.

As for Koops, personally I would have liked him, but not for pick 19. If the Dogs want to shell out that for him, well, more fool them. Having said that, lets just wait and see. Rumors are one thing, but I don't think anyone knows what will happen tomorrow- whatever the case, methinks its going to be a very busy day.

kanga's getting serious about koopsy ... the eagles are the only club to have made him a financial offer ... but can't get a deal done with freo at this stage ...

... koops may even go into the pre-season draft and nominate his own terms ... if not the dockers have said they will offer him a two year deal after the dust settles
