If Mackenzie is happy playing WAFL for most of the year he's welcome to stay.

I want him to leave for his own benefit. I see Schofield as the better third tall option than him and I'm not convinced Guv will be shifted.

Essendon are out. I know that worsfold said they'd be interested in eMac and brown a little while back but that was before Hurley agreed to return

They have Hurley and hooker as KPDs as well as Gleeson and Hartley that played there this year. Dodoro has said they no longer have any interest

GWS could perhaps use Mckenzie but they have salary cap issues due to their salary cap being reduced for 2017 so they wouldn't be able to absorb his salary which is high for next year

It'll take a club to offer eMac something juicy to convince him to shift and I don't think he has the currency

Thanks @Keyzer Soze. Another second round pick would be nice, Love to get one of 4 second round picks (6 picks inside 30 even without the picks they would get for Prestia and JOM) that GCS currently have. If they think that we will finish outside the 8 next year then they might give us one of those for our second pick next year. Perhaps we should ask ep2006 to have a chat with them.

This is what concerns me if Mackenzie stays, I believe he'll get back to his best at some point next year or at least very close to. The MC is notorious for gifting games to players based on name, if this happens and Barrass spends large chucks of the year at EP we could possibly lose him. The only way is for Gov to go forward but it would make us so tall with JK, JD, Gov, Barrass, Schoey, Eazy, Lycett and one of Giles/ Vardy/ Lobbe/ Goodwin (who ever they pick up). I too think Schoey is a better fit than Eazy, purely due to Schoeys atheleticism and versatility I.e playing on talls, mediums and smalls plus his ability to dash off half back. Could possibly throw him on a wing even and he'd do fine.

There's a hell of a lot of water to go under the bridge but I reckon the long term plan is for Mitchell to come back and take over from Clarkson. After 5 or 6 years over here playing and assistant coaching, that will be 17 or 18 years Clarkson has been coaching and about the point where he is probably likely to be looking at calling it a day from the coaches box.

It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Will be interesting to see when the Mitchell deal is actually done.

Obviously we'll likely agree a deal in principal with the Hawks but currently he is in NZ, it's a long trip from NZ to Perth if he is going to tour the club first. Could go into the final days.

Or it's done today for a late pick with zero hassles.

There would be something quite funny about Mitchell and Pridda lining up together. I'm just excited about his knowledge base. A Hawk matures further into an Eagle and takes his eaglets under his wings. Little Duggan, Shredder, Parto. Teach Shuey and Gaff a couple more tricks! Would be a great coaching addition even when he's playing.

I'm on pain meds and fell asleep reading this thread on my phone last night. I ended up having fever dreams about hitting the town with Mitchell and some angry wce supporters were following us with over the top abuse about betraying the club. So yeah thanks campaigners.

Bit rough keyser. i know Chris's mother and she's wonderful and I also know dad and he'd slap you.

Does his dad also look like an ugly lady on steroids and male growth hormones?

Probably with the ugly stick?

If S Mitchell becomes an Eagle and they decide say early 2017 to strip Watson of his Brownlow and retrospectively award the two runners up with the medal we could claim our fourth Brownlow Medallist!!!!!:violin: (closest emoji I can find to a long bow)
It took me about 5 minutes to work out who our 3rd Brownlow medalist was

The most disappointing thing about this trade period will be missing out on the opportunity to get more picks in the second round.

We desperately need as many picks as possible in this draft but as others have suggested we will more than likely instead carry players like Mackenzie and Masten through to retirement rather than trying to ship them off somewhere else where they might be more valuable.

If Mayne was an Eagle you can almost guarantee that he would be lining up in our hypothetical forward line next year instead of giving us a juicy second round draft pick.

I bet the coaching staff is stung by the Selwood compensation but as much as it wasn't what we expected, Tom Cole is still worth more to us than Scott Selwood is.

We would have received pick 35 (which will probably get knocked down a few more notches by end of trade period) if we'd shipped off Mayne the same way Freo did.
We'd likely get the same if Masten or Emac left, and personally I'd rather keep them.

What we need are GCs 20s picks (SPP and Bolton should still be available then) and that'll only happen by giving up pick 12 and maybe some extra, which I'd love for us to do.
