Do you really think Goldstein puts us over the top though? I don't think he's the difference between us winning and losing a flag, that's on our midfield.

We would be better with Goldstein as our number 1 ruck just as we would be with Nic as our number 1 ruck, neither of them though will be the difference between winning or losing a flag.

if it basically a swap out of Lycett Mckenzie brown it is a no brainer do it .
The salary cap, known officially as Total Player Payments, is A$10,600,000 for the 2016 season with a salary floor of $10,070,000except for Greater Western Sydney, whose salary cap is $10,886,000with a floor of $10,336,000.
Next Year all clubs are on the same salary cap

Agree somewhat but he has a serious worth and the club will know that to get him we will have to give something serious up.

That is to much but it would certainly be Lycett and a good pick or Lycett and a reasonable player.
He won't come cheap.

He is a very good player but his worth is decreased due to his age and body (which I imagine is not in a great state given he has rucked by himself for so long), not to mention, if the rumours are true, the Roos may consider it necessary to trade him for team harmony. Its very hard to value him but I wouldnt give anything over pick 12 for him (and even then I wouldnt want to do it), if he was only 25 then different ball park.

That was one guy though and he also posted Fyfe and pick 7 for Goldstein

So wouldn't be paying much attention to that.

How long has he been our list manager? Does he have any history of talking one thing and doing another? I can't recall an example. So now he is suddenly going to change his way of doing business? It's one thing to keep something quiet and not volunteer information, but this is very different. He was asked specifics about Goldstein and he said no.

Wasn't it just yesterday (or day before) he was interviewed and made the statement? So something's changed in the last 24 hours? Highly doubt it.

Just seems like a fairly pointless trade to be making, Lycett hasn't exactly been terrible, Giles is a red haired warrior and we also likely have a rookie ruckman joining the side soon as well. That's all while the best tap ruckman in the game will be waiting on the sidelines.

Even if it's not a rumor, i don't see it happening.

Agree mate, but it has now hit the AFL website and generally it does not make their trade talk until it has some substance. Be interesting week coming up.
