Do we want to risk another player that is only potential for the midfield instead of getting a genuine midfielder?

But there lies the dilema.

At pick 12 all the 100% genuine mids are probably all off the board that warrant a top 10 pick . What's left of the genuine mids are not rated at pick <10 more like pick 18 - 22 , I would suggest some one like Dylan Clarke fits that bill.

So at 12 do we take best available irrespective of the position they fill.

Or take a player who are in the best available category and that have shown that they may have midfield potential such as Berry, SPP, Florent , Rothman, Bolton and Logue.......to name a few .

Whilst I want our midfield improved I think we would be reaching at 12 to take the next available 100% mid and I would be OK with us taking a punt on who was next best on the White Board that may become a genuine mid . To me Logue fits that bill or we go and reach for Bolton as he brings blistering pace and run and carry.

At 12 ( failing some sliding ) I see three viable options : Logue , Berry and Bolton in that order .

This is where the recruiter earn their money ; getting the projections right.

IMO Logue has Fyfe like potential.

U don't seem to get it, barrass to us is now one of untradeables. Watch the games he has played. Gerard Healy gets all wet over him. He is better than you think.

Marsh will never be AA. He is a butcher of the ball.

Get a grip son. We would give up shuey before barrass. And everyone loves shuey. Only player loved more than barrass is kennedy and Nic Nat. That's it.
And Gov, but they come close

Yep and Mitch Clark wanted to come to Freo and Ryan O'keefe wanted to go to Hawthorn.

Neither was being lead around by their testicles like O'Meara is.

The guy is whipped.

Track down the girl from Jack Darling's tent and put an iceberg through the love boat.

Get a grip ? Barras has played a handful of games he is a good average player at best so far so is Jono Marsh ..........What did you get Barras for pick 70 something and we got Marsh at pick 60 something Both kp players one is heavier than the other
Years yet if they become AA.........I think you better a grip on reality
Barrass is a far better player than Marsh. He is not a good average player but a potential star. He kept MacKenzie out of the team - a former AA squad member and our F & B in 2014. Our club won't be trading him, certainly not for a hack like Marsh. You do not even have the draft facts correct, Barrass was pick 41 and Marsh pick 77, not that necessarily means anything. Marsh couldn't hit the front of a barn from 20 metres, when our team played yours every time Marsh got the ball he kicked it back to us. You'd be struggling to give Marsh away let alone trade him for gold like Barrass.

By the looks of things on this thread there's been too many cones, not enough grips

Clarkson knows what he's doing letting all these older guys go. They knew t Mitchell and JOM were coming a couple of months ago.

There's more to it than just the salary cap (although that's a big part of it). When they resigned the older guys, there would have been plans in place and they would have known if they could fit these other two in or not. They wouldn't get to the trade period unprepared and with no space to sign the two younger guys.

I think it's more to do with gameplan. Clarkson has realised that the Bulldogs and gws are the future and his gameplan is effectively useless now. We've picked up Mitchell and already have priddis on the team and I think we are doing the exact thing Clarkson is trying to avoid. Slow guys that can't mark and have their own significant deficiencies. Coming up against teams like the Bulldogs who play with a maul we have to be able to match their ball movement speed to get the ball out before they can lock it in and throw it around.

Okay look, 3 Gif changes is just too much.

2006_Eagles tell this noob that he needs to just pick one and stick with it before he posts.

Everyone needs to get a grip. Too many people are losing grips in this thread.

You don't get to tell me to get a grip, I decide who gets a grip and when!

It's been covered ad nauseum, O'Meara is moving to Melbourne because that's where his girlfriend wants them to go.
So it's not happening him moving back to WA.
Plus he's from up north - Country lad so couldn't care less about Perth

A lot of water to go under the bridge before you can say they've done that without a problem though

They're trading out their B&F and runner up from 2016 for bags of chips and whilst it's expected they'll get the omeara trade done it's still not official. Nor is it guaranteed they'll be able to fix his knees

The trades of Lewis and Mitchell have also only cleared cap space and aren't helping get trades done. To do get JOM and T Mitchell they've traded out their first round picks for this year and next plus hill plus their 2nd rounder and possibly another player like hartung

Everyone is giving the Hawks leeway because it's hawthorn and they're smart but there's a lot going out the door for vickery, Mitchell and omeara. And their not blessed with an abundance of young talent either

Gutsy yes. Time will tell if it's smart or stupid

Yep Totally agree. too early to call
But for me this is one club in some turmoil. Mitchell openly saying that it hurt him to hear that guys like Bruest had their name bandied about for trading. In my opinion the Suns List Manager set a purposeful cat amongst the pigeons by saying that up to 8 players names were mentioned.
And now Lewis is disenchanted. Probably pissed to hear of the ridiculous money for Vickery and Mitchell and maybe O'Meara. And you can't tell me that he is the only one hurting.
Remember Brissy imploding after Voss tried to offload Bradshaw and Rischeltelli for Fevola and I for one feel thats part of the reason why Brisbane had a lot of people wanting to jump.
Call it brave if you like. But i for one like how West Coast are respectfull of their playing list and generally you only leave if you want to leave

McGovern feelings seriously unloved in this thread at the moment.

Bloke has one bad final and he is yesterday's man!
