Mate, that's the price GCS set. As I said, I'm sure there are plenty of clubs out there that would pay that price. That's got nothing to do with your or my opinion on his worth, that's the economics. JOM is trying to limit the market to 1 club and GCS are giving him and the Hawks the finger!
The price GCS sets becomes inconsequential if the price the market is willing to pay differs. It's simple economics.

Vardy and Mitchell for not a lot of cost.
Filled a hole in the ruck stocks with a young player from a good team, a good injury free run could see him actually improve a fair bit.
Mitchell, well what can you say. Yes he is in the twilight of his career but just won the F&B at one of the comps elite teams. We needed a skilled, elite mid and we got one.

One of our better trade periods I would say, very happy.

Can't believe I am about to say this but I can't wait to see Sam Mitchell next year

Thought he'd played 14 games this year?

Is it just me or does it seem as though this year the destination clubs have really come out on top this year??
Seems every trade clubs getting players are getting bargains.

You're terming the market as Hawthorn, I'm saying that there are other clubs that would pay that price, hence "the market" is happy to meet the price, but JOM is trying to limit the market... as I said before.

No other clubs did, only other club that showed interest in JOM was Essendon and they would take him as pick one in the pre season draft.

Gold Coast has landed selection ten in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft and multiple future second round selection in a series of deals that will also see Jaeger O'Meara get to Hawthorn.

On the final day of the exchange period, Hawthorn manufactured a deal with Carlton to enable the Hawks to table an improved offer to the SUNS allowing Gold Coast to generate an additional future second round draft selection from the Fremantle Dockers.

Freo involved somehow???

So much anger towards JOM and the Hawks for no reason.

It had no effect on the other trades that were done.
Agreed

It was always going to happen right at the deadline - that's what the pissing contest trade period is all about
