How much more pain do us supporters need to endure.

While I appreciated our stance intially on Thornton and Russell, this stance should have only been intended to produce levarage in our negotiations.

I negotiate for a living, I am shocked and dismayed that we haven't sought trades for these players.

Russell could have been an easy sell to Port for a second rounder or young player (F.Deluca).

We should have acquired pick 24 and 33 for Thornton.

Forget the sentiment, that only lasts a few days over the initial shock of young players wanting to leave. Forget the anger, that will be replace by more years of disappointment and frustration.

We have lost our number 9 selection in 2004 - Russell - after missing draft picks in the preceeding years. We have lost him for zip.

We have lost our 22 year old FB for zip.

This is another bad day for the Carlton Football Club. When you thought it could't get worse.

We haven't lost anyone yet.

I would have liked to have gotten something good for Thornton, but nothing was offered. If we think we are a better chance in re-signing him, then we have made the right decision. If we don't re-sign him then at least we can get him in pre season if he is the best available.

JR - I would be interested in what Port would have offered. He isn't worth a 2nd rounder or Deluca, especially when they think they can get him for free.

There's still two months until the PSD - who knows, maybe they'll sign. Either way, chances are we will pick up Thornton even if he doesn't re-sign.

Lappin wanted out last year and even though no-one wanted him, he could have walked into the PSD, but he ended up re-signing.

Mu gut feeling is that T-Bird will stay, not to fussed about Russell though

Didn't offer? Your joke of an adminstration refused to pick up the phone, professionalism pfft carlton are a disgrace.

Im dissapointed that the club was distracted by Thornton and Russells bull**** which evidently stopped us from doing other trades. As it stands all I can hope for is for Thornton to re-sign which would allow us to use pick 1 in PSD to maybe pick up Beau McDonald,I know his injury prone but still prefer him to what weve currently got on list.Hopefully some decent defender nominates for PSD before then.Russell can do whatever he wants.

There's plenty of time for Thornton to re-sign.
