I think its called good business practice. Lynch has supposedly flown over to Adelaide today for one, hence why the deal is yet to be "official". Brown and Crouch would have had medicals at the draft combine, I'm not sure the clubs are allowed to deal directly with the players before they are drafted.

Absolutely and clubs would be nuts if they didn't. However, for some reason Port are not going to be trading for Seaby now because of a poor medical result.

I'm not saying the 2 are connected in any way but Armstrong and pick 35 is a bargain buy for a fully fit and healthy player only drafted 2 years before with a high teen pick.

I'm always suspicious when I hear that clubs want to do their own medical check. We may have, but I didn't hear us doing one for Luke Brown, Brad Crouch or that kid from St Kilda.

Brown and Crouch had no history of injury, although Crouch did break a leg last year. Lynch did have a medical yesterday.

How come I don't believe you will stop calling him a mommy boy, or posting stupid photos of Michael Voss without even taking the time to understand his drafting or trading strategies?

Lighten up Alex. Have a little fun! I'm sorry if you take offense to my "Crazy Vossy" pictures:p, no one else seems to mind. I'm not trying to piss you off, just crack open a beer and think about how some of the positive steps that the AFC has taken this week. :thumbsu:

That's why i felt the need to add a bit more.

If your happy to let it go, fine by me. But having the last word, Im sure this thread will continue on for a few more post just yet.

Apologies in advance, it will be campaignerston for ever in my book. I do not care if that annoys anyone to be honest...:thumbsu:

Just because it wasnt reported, im pretty sure that getting a medical done is standard practice during trade week and has been for years. They reported Lynch was coming over for a medical today, hence why that trade isnt official yet

Imagine making a big trade only to discover that Crouch has some degenirative hip condition for example. You'd lose your job.

What about a 3 way trade?

Tippett to Brisbane
Trengove to Adelaide
Clarke to Melbourne

Effectively Adelaide swap Tippett for Trengove
Melbourne swap Trengove for Clarke (Apparently they've offered him a motza, they must rate him. Would the Clarke offer be more than Trengove is getting?)
Brisbane swap Clarke for Tippett.

Bit of a mega deal in terms of player quality. Maybe Bris need to throw in 34 with Clarke.

If money was the issue for Mitch he would have taken one of the two massive deals that gws offered him - one for 3 years, one for four. Mitch wants to go home to be with his daughters. Can't see the Melbourne bid coming off to be honest.

The I hope you don't ever cheer for Scott Thompson, Sam Jacobs and anyone else who has come home for family reasons.

I don't have a problem with anyone going home, so my conscience is clear of any fear of anyone calling me a hypocrite or contradicting myself.

It seems according to facebook that Lewis Johnston isn't flying to adelaide and is currently at the gold coast.

Absolutely and this is what my fear is with Sydney not having to much of a worry by trading Johnstone for Armstrong and 35 in a weak draft.

I would welcome Lewis Johnston to the Crows. It's interesting that we are interested in both Johnston and Lynch.

I guess we see Lynch playing in defence? Do people see him more as a utility? I have not seen much of him since the U18 competition.

IF he's more than likely going next year, and IF we can get Pick 8 and Polec, do it. May aswell.

Polec and Pick 8 = pull the trigger

Pick 8 will net another class player the ilk of Hoskin-Elliott, Buntine, Sumner, Kavanagh.

Also need to consider the salary cap relief that will be created by off-loading Tippett's contract. This could be shared across some of our players that will be out of contract at the end of 2012.

No more speculation and rumour of will he or won't he go that the likes of Rucci will run with for the entire 2012 season. This should be motivation alone for a lot of you, the fact that Rooch will lose a lot of fodder and ammunition.

Too many pro's for trading Tippett IMO.
