I would have thought being one of the RFC recruiters, you'd be spending more time making the deal for a third rounder, rather than filling us all in on BF.

No need for comments like that, it's a valid discussion, surely even you agree that giving up such a valuable pick that can be used in any of the drafts in the next few years is to high of a price to pay, especially when you consider it could range anywhere from pick 20 to 30, would give any club the advantage in having 3 picks in the top 30 which is to valuable.

No, you've made five posts in this thread rolling your eyes saying how the Crows will not get the compo pick and that Maric is not worth what we think he is, without suggesting an alternative.

Gunston may not get to Hawks
Adelaide forward Jack Gunston has played just 14 games and kicked 20 goals but he is shaping as one of this year's hottest commodities.

Gunston, who turns 20 on Sunday, has nominated Hawthorn as his club of choice since walking out on the Crows to return to Victoria.

But the Adelaide Advertiser's Rucci o) writes that Gunston may have to accept that another club will come up with a more attractive deal for the Crows.

Crows list manager David Noble told Rucci the club had received "legitimate" interest in Gunston from three other clubs and had told him he "may have to reconsider his preference if one of those three clubs has a better deal for us".

The Hawks' first-round draft pick this year does not come until No. 24, but The Age reports wingman Clinton Young may be raised in the Crows-Hawks negotiations. The broadsheet reports that Hawk midfielder Xavier Ellis has ruled out a move to Adelaide.

In preliminary stages. Early signs show that it is probably going to require a 3rd party. There has been some rumours about Jessie White being involved, presumably he would go to the 3rd club. Maybe you could trade him for Waite and we get some combination of picks? Just a thought.

Any news on the Armstrong trade?

Armstrong has stated he wants to return to his native New South Wales after four years in Adelaide.

Swans coach John Longmire said his club had spoken briefly with the Crows in the lead-up to trade week and Adelaide had indicated talks were likely to happen late in the exchange period.

"We had a brief conversation with them last week but nothing has transpired yet and I guess things will move along this week," Longmire told afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio on Monday morning.

The Crows have other players on the table this week with ruckman Ivan Maric keen to seek opportunities at Richmond and Jack Gunston wanting to return home to Victoria to play for Hawthorn.

Later on Monday morning, after the Swans confirmed highly rated midfielder Tom Mitchell would be taken with a first-round draft selection, Longmire said there had been no indication from the Crows a third party would be required to get a deal done for Armstrong.

"He's a player who's got some family up in Sydney so he's a player who's looking if he could to get back to Sydney," he said.

"I think Adelaide has got a couple of things going on this week so we just have to wait and see how that transpires."

As it has been all along! I really don't want us to trade Tippett (luckily the club sees the common sense, unlike some of our supporters), players of his stature don't grow on trees. Noble not giving anything away understandably, but said that if we decide to make a play for the mini draft, it won't affect the other deals.

Barret just confirming a well known rumour, that Adelaide are the front runner for Xavier Ellis. However, I read on the rumour thread on the trading board that he had declined to be traded.

Salary cap has now been confirmed by the AFL, according to TW radio.

Where did you hear that? Not like we were going to ever get that pick anyway, Connors or the compo pick are the most likely options for us.
