Midfielder Tyson Stenglein is likely to be the week's first trade, with his move to West Coast for pick 12 almost complete. "I think (West Coast), they are pretty keen, they are quite serious about getting Tyson," said Adelaide recruiting manager James Fantasia. This leaves Adelaide free to deal with Melbourne for the services of Scott Thompson.
Sheedy asked about West Coast's Daniel Kerr, he said: "I don't think he's an available player."
There was interest from West Coast for Nathan Thompson, but a deal could be difficult with the Eagles keen to use their first pick (12) on Tyson Stenglein. "Unless we can get some fair compensation for it (Thompson), we won't be doing any deal, and Nathan knows that," Hook said. He also said Jon Hay would be staying.
West Coast is "very keen" on Port's young forward Damon White, but was told by the Power that White was very happy to stay at Alberton.
John Worsfold announced he would offer up "whatever it takes" to get Nathan Thompson, but that deal will be hard to complete if the Eagles' first draft pick (12) is used to get Tyson Stenglein. "If we can get either of those deals done, then our pick is gone and we will only get one (trade), but we would be comfortable with that," Worsfold said, adding that neither was preferred over the other. "Just the one we can get, we don't want to miss out on both," he said. Daniel Kerr and David Wirrpunda will not be traded, but several clubs are interested in Chad Morrison and Callum Chambers.
