Strauss has done nothing wrong since coming into the team. He has played around 10 AFL games.

What has he done in that 10 games to convinced you he'll be part of our future.

Done nothing wrong. What sort of criteria is that? You don't have to do anything positive but as long as you don't stuff up badly, you're fine.

WE all know his strengths and if he could harness it, he could be a goodie. But he has Daniel Bell smell written all over.

Both built perfectly for the modern game with their speed and strength. Strauss better skills and Bell better defensively but both look to have the self confidence of a pea.

Don't get me wrong, i'm hoping he makes it but i still haven't seen him create a positive passage of play that makes me go 'he's a player'.

i think he wil do well at a club that has midfielders who will do the dirty work and let him sit on the outside and do the 'pretty stuff'

i reckon with lewis, sewell, hodge and mitchell sylvia would thrive at the hawks

FFS give the kid a full season , he looks better than he was in his first cpl of games and he will be better in another 10 games time

It's also a myth that Strauss is poor defensively, has only been beaten by his man in two of his games this year, and one was a 186 point thrashing.

He is gaining confidence and composure at AFL level, he has improved his decision making drastically.

He has showcased his footskills on occasion, but of course these will improve with confidence.

The amount of players who come in with instant confidence are not many, not many at all.

What did watts show you in his first 10 games, or martin, or petterd ?

Martin was a promising backman when he started. Petterd started like a blaze before he busted his lung.

Watts should not have played in his first year. His 2010 season, he showed his clean hands, kicking skills and decision making. Even his first 2 games, he showed enough against WCE and Port.

Surely a Melbourne supporter knew that. Or at least one of those 3?
