Will be my last training report for a couple of weeks as i will be interstate on and off over this period so i wont be seeing much training ( the camp on the GC is on next week anyway)
Mod group
Neagle ,seems to be a perminant fixture there now.
Bellchambers
Watson
Gumbleton , has some hammy tightness.
Williams , sporting the number 24 jumper.
Daniher
Winderlich.
As per the norm training was pretty sharp and focused. Without running through details of all the drills some of the things they where working on where switching the play effectively .
Working the ball ino the forward line using a decoy lead with other players leading back into space towards goal. Sort of a mini Pagan's paddock type scenario.
One drill where they where setting up a play on situation and drawing an opponent properly. A lot of attention was paid to making sure the players where positioning in the correct position and not pushing in front of the player being drawn. This allowed the ball carrier to either give the hanball or step inside the defender if he went to cover the outside man.
A couple of kicking drills where done as well.
On the player front Hislop looks to be coming along well although he has to work on his kicking a bit more. Does miss a few targets at times.
Jetta, Dempsey,Houli,Hocking and Lonergan are still progressing well.
Myers and pears look in good touch at the moment.
Dyson is training as well as i have ever seen him train.
Johns hasnt looked too bad now he is back training with the main group.
McVeigh looks in great shape as well. He was doing some extra running work after the main training finished. Lots of repeat sprints all over the ground like you would if you where playing midfield and continually looking for space to lead into.
For a change it is very hard to find fault in the condition of any players. The mod group hasnt been too big or filled with serious injuries.
I guess the main concerns are the fact that Neagle still hasnt trained despite the fact it was announced he will be ready to go after christmas and Gumbys hammy tightness that seems to be a persistant problem at the moment.
