Top report Stiffy - Thankx for that.
Seen Bassett on the news tonite claiming "These new footy drills are working because the training much harder - we gotta be gettin better" OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT

Well he sure doesn't copy notes from McDermott. :)

Great report Stiffy, you & the other guys who have taken time out to watch & write out reports on training should be applauded.
Always been of the belief in small town Adelaide there's a feeling that to survive you have to follow the KG business model - it maybe true to, but do you have to make an idiot of yourself to be successful

Hmmmmmmmm. Let me consider the evidence.

KG, Cornesy, Rucci, McDermott, Rowe, Aiston, Dittmar.

Yes. :p

The evidence is overwhelming isn't it

Seriously though when I left Adelaide after a few years coming back at odd times it used to make me cringe listening to KG's small minded gabble.

He is solely responsible for the attitudes of Sth Australians towards Victorians, and the nieve thoughts towards sports big picture and Adelaides role within it.

Well it sure wouldnt be his school of announcing then would it. :o

BTW, a bit late but thanks for the update Stiffy.
Forgot my bloody password didnt I when they switched over to the new server.
Old timers disease.

So you would rest Clarke (because I would) and play Huddo and Mees in ruck with Bighead on the forward lines?

Agreed I was getting upset with KG before I left and going back or seeing him on ''the footy show'' used to make me wish I wasnt from SA.

I believe he's just an harmless silly old fool who's heart is in the right place but his mouth continually lets him down.

& before anyone replies "it takes one to know one" then forget it :p

I was only a boy in knee high school shorts when KG was umpiring. :)

I agree with that and even when he started out I don't think he had any idea the repercussions of his ravings would have on public attitudes.

Agree wholeheartedly.
If my memory (and we all know how that can be sometimes :o ) serves me well!!!!!!!he started the pro SA biased comments when most of the Vic commentators were sticking to us in the 70s. and 80s. He started off slowly but like a freight train going down hill without brakes, theres no stopping him now.
And it doesnt stop at footy either.

Clarke hasn't trained in any of the sessions so based on that alone I wouldn't have him in the 25 for the first game of the Wizard Cup along with Thompson and Hart.

I would take in 3 ruckman in Hudson, Biglands and Meesen. Just play Meesen for about 5-10 minutes to give him a bit of the taste. Play Hudson in the ruck for most of the game. Biglands off the bench.

I would have Mark Stevens, Ian Perrie and Trent Hentschel as the 3 tall forwards.

I'll be very surprised if Meesen gets a run in the Wizard Cup (of course depending on how far we go).

Can see Andrews possibly getting a run though?

I wouldn't write Meesen off just yet. I reckon he is more of a chance than Andrews.

Just think for a tall ruckman it may be a little premature. The AFC know they have a good player in Meesen, Andrews is more of an unknown. If Andrews has been training well? they may want to have a look at him under AFL type conditions - he'll have to earn his spot though, but has Meesen been more impressive consistently than Andrews on the track?

I have seen Meesen on 2 occasions where he has trained very well. There is no doubt he has time on his side but I keep going back to Craig's comments that we could see 2 new draftees play during the wizard cup. We all know that Knights and Maric are out of the equation. We also know that Van Berlo is one of those new draftees that Craig has in mind.

The other option comes out of Gibson, Meesen, Nye, Griffin or Hinge and my money would be on Meesen especially since James Fantasia reckons that Mees could play AFL this year

It is good to see them focusing on basic skills instead of just fitness
We're saying that now, but what will we be saying in 2 months time ;)

Sorry why is Van Berlo out of the Wizard Cup equation???

I think Van Berlo would be a definite based on training form!
Griffen, Nye, and Gibbo would have to be damn lucky!

They could play Meesen, but when do you find out about Andrews, or do we have another Paerker situation on our hands ;)
