Which games were these?

Anzac Day and the SF against Freo, yes.

I don't recall him putting in a 15 possie, 3 goal game against a top 4 side that.

He's got match winning capabilities but let's not pretend he's torn apart Melbourne, Brisbane etc.
Slowly getting to his best 2022 form, means he’ll be hard to keep out.
And in that form no defence will be comfortable with his inclusion.

And I’ve been one of his critics this year.

I didn’t stay to hear Fly’s speech from the Glasshouse balcony. Thought it might be a little like the Pope speaking to the adoring masses from his balcony at St Peter’s.😳
Haha yeah. I didn't know what was happening until he came out.

I reckon him and Bobby are an absolute handful playing together in the team.

Hopefully Ginni continues putting in the hard work on his redemption arc.

I reckon last game was well above 2022 form.

I’ve been saying the same thing, Ginni in that forward line releases Bobby to work further up the ground and use he biggest weapons, pace and foot skills.

Would be more truthful & inspiring than anything the Pope has ever said 😆

My only complaint about Ginnivan upon his return is he hasn't been committing enough shithouserey.

I understand he's got his head down and is working hard and focusing, playing the ball etc, but the only thing he's lacking at present is that signature 2022 shithouserey. Now that he's hit his straps again, come this finals series I would like to see that snide celebrations, sledging and general insufferable little pest behaviour back. This team needs its Didak spiritual successor.

I've seen him run straight into oppo defenders after a goal has been scored .. mouthing off ..

He was getting stuck into someone against Essendon. Trying to be so irritating that the bloke gave away a 50 for punching him in the head. It was good to see.

Sunday September 3rd. Open training ( I always find this term "Open" funny, given its always open -- just a promotional aspect)

It was only the AFL squad in contention for this week out there... no surprise given the VFL game yesterday, we can't expect those boys to be training already. They should be back on track on Tuesday.

This squad was:

  • Lippa
  • JDG
  • IQ
  • Maynard
  • Elliott
  • Mitchell
  • JDaicos
  • Noble
  • Pendles
  • McStay
  • Adams
  • Cameron
  • Frampton
  • Sidebottom
  • Hill
  • Crisp
  • Murphy
  • Moore
  • McCreery
  • WHE
  • Ginni
  • Markov
  • Howe
  • Mihocek
  • Cox

Ryan and Carmy were also on track. Carmy doing running session as he goes through the concussion protocols, Ryan full non contact training with the blue cap on. But he should be back in full training next week.

Nick did his first running session. Straight lines only. For about 15-20 mins, Had some work done on his leg/knee, then eased off after that. Good to see he has started running, but he is certainly not getting up to play in 4 days lol
They've now ruled him out. But are confident he'll be right for the 2nd final.

The session only went for an hour, probably since they did a big session on Thur, and main session is this coming Tuesday. But they focused on transition, attack and defence. And some match play.
Also some fight drills. 1v1 with the talls, small forwards v small defenders, and the mids together.
Post the session some boys (Ginni. Beau. Jamie. Hill) did some goal kicking from the pocket.

After the boys went inside, the crowd went onto the ground. I couldn't tell what was going on at least, the speakers echos so the announcements I couldn't understand, so everyone went closer to the balcony where Fly made a speech. He mentioned they have a side by side flag with all the years we let the premiership slide on the banner, and this banner will be hung outside the AIA centre, then given to the cheer squad on game day.
He said, we are going to war.

Wise words from Fly.
You just know there is steel under the cuddly exterior.
He's leaving no doubt as to where we need to go & he's been there before.
Only Pendles & Sidey have trodden the same path.
GO PIES!!!!!

That's some crazy talk LL. I like crazy but even so, 🥜

To be fair to you, I questioned whether we needed to get Mitchell since we already had Macrae and Carmichael. So can see why you'd argue that we didn't need Mitchell -- since Macrae will replace him in the next year or two.

Haha, yes, i guess it could be crazy talk. Wouldn’t be the first time!

I just don’t see what many others here apparently see. To my eye, he’s slow and a relatively poor kick. Reminds me of a tall Cal Brown. His last game for us was much lauded for eight handballs and eight tackles in a half. I agree it’s quite a work-rate in just two quarters but zero kicks and zero marks???

Anyway, hope he proves himself and commands a spot in our midfield in 2024 through superior performance over the current incumbents.

Howie seemed to mention in his presser he took a massive hanger at training.......... Is there video of this somewhere? :)
I'll take a look. I could have missed it, but I'll see what I can see from my footage lol

I thought his shithousery earlier in the season, where he was sat on the ground and extended his hand to an opposition player to help him up for a prolonged period, was champagne level, personally.

Posted in the injury thread and meant to post it here. Any signs of Nick Daicos running again today? His transition into lateral movement and into drills ahead of a semi/prelim is all care about at this point.
Fly said in his press Conference today that Nick was given the day off but will train tomorrow.
