Has he been promoted for Tanner Smith who's been put on the LTI list?

No but I can't see why we'd bother including a player on the lti list if we don't replace him. With Menegola injured and howson stuck in reserves it leaves just Moller and Schloithe as options. Tbh I don't see why they'd upgrade Moller when Hannath is surely ahead of him at this stage.

Think adding a player to the LTI list this time has a bit more to do with Match Payments and TPP rather that a senior list spot elevation for a rookie. We added Kepler to the LTI list early on and Tabs didn't get upgraded to the main list until 4-5 weeks later .

...Quite a good session, it didnt start to 10am & continued until 11.15 approx.

The warm up & first few drills were carried out under the instruction of the skills coaches. Ross then appeared onto the pitch carrying his own tactics board.

After this it was all half pitch game simulation work & shooting drills.

24 training with the main group & 8 of the regulars did fairly intensive running drills. This group included Hill, Ballas, Sanderlands, D Pearce, Johnston, Mzungu, Fyfe.

Clubs training perspective from yesterday Aug 7th:

The rain held off this morning at Fremantle Oval as the team hit the ground for their first training session of the week.

The main group went through a thorough warm-up before utilising the whole oval for skills and goal kicking drills.

A break out-group ran laps around the boundary.

Paul Duffield, David Mundy, Nat Fyfe, Garrick Ibbotson and Hayden Ballantyne joined Tendai Mzungu, Aaron Sandilands and Stephen Hill on the sidelines running.

Josh Simpson has a shoulder injury and was restricted, while youngster Tanner Smith watched on after his recent shoulder surgery.

The team will hold its final session on Friday 9 August, before they take on GWS Giants at Patersons Stadium on Sunday 11 August at 2.40pm.

Seems a bit unusual that Aussie. But I`m happy sticking with my 8, cos for certain Walters & D Pearce were in the same group doing 150m tempo runs.

I forgot about Simpson though, he was running full laps on his own.

I would add that for the game sims virtually all of the forwards were not involved.

Mzungu was looking 100% as usual!

Yeah that's right. I can't remember exactly but a certain percentage of player payments are not counted towards the salary cap. Not sure about these days, but certainly a few years ago it used to also have something to do with insurance issues as well (for LTI, players insurance starts to come into it and offset costs etc.).

Does anyone know what kind of extra training Pav might have done while he was on doing his penance?

i think he was working with the rest panel during the week & doing match simulation work on his own on Saturdays. Involves simulating a full match running moves with coaches feeding him with the ball. He could cover upto 16kms during one of those sessions.

He had to train with the WAFL boys when the main squad did match sims at trainining, which is considered demoralising for someone like Pav.

Was he swatting the young kids and WAFL boys off like flies and ruthlessly killing it in a bored fashion or was he doing more of a playing coach kind of role and giving them pointers on how to become Super Pav?

I went down to training today only to find that they were training at Subi Oval instead. The only player that was training at Freo Oval today was Sam Menegola and he was being watched by Tanner Smith complete with his arm in a sling.

So after doing my block and giving the groundsmen the bird as I spun my wheels in disgust as I left the ground broken hearted, I suddenly had an idea.

As Subi Oval is on the way home for me I thought I would try my luck in getting in to watch what I presume was a closed training session.

So after 20 minutes of trying door after door I finally found an open one leading into the stadium.

So I wandered on in and sat down quietly to watch the boys train, noticing that here were 35 players on the track in total and they were broken into 2 groups being the WAFL boys and the full squad of 25 named to play on Sunday. However Hayden Crozier trained alone and just had shots on goal from what I saw.

The other surprise today was that Ryan Crowley trained with the WAFL boys and not the main squad.

Ibbo and Mundy trained well and should both play for mine. Luke McPharlin did a little bit of running but I guess we wont see him do much if he won't play until round 23.

Mora was not sighted, nor was Clancee Pearce.

From the 40 minutes of training that I saw the boys just did general drills and sprints rather than spend the whole session on doing match sims using the vast expanses of Subiaco Oval to practice their game plan and set ups on.

The weather was great and the boys looked sharp as they took in the atmosphere of a completely empty stadium, apart from one training observer whom had snuck in undetected into to watch them train.

Then after watching about 40 minutes of training Jason Webber spotted me in the stands and went over to Luke Morphess to report an intruder inside the ground. Not waiting to be asked to leave I decided to keep my dignity and throw my self out of the stadium instead.

Well at least the door didn't my arse on the way out I suppose.

More like, "***k those guys on BF will rip me a new one if I dont give'em something!"

The dedication to infiltrate Subi is to be commended.

The escapist routine is not. Surely you front the challenge and announce "Look, I am the greatest training reporter on BF! I protest at being removed from my sworn duty! I GIVE GREAT EFF..." *as you are dragged from the oval* :)

Just for Seppo, Jesse Crichton trained with the main squad today and looked good. He looked really determined to make the final 23.

Jesse may surprise a few if he gets a run - surely he is a bit bigger/more mature than in his early games. These things take time ... (even if he still has that beautiful hairdo @#@!^%$)

Captain coach Pav it was for sure. He even did a bit of that today.

It was good to see our great leader on the track today coaching the others in the finer points of delivering a gift wrapped ball lace out onto a leading full forward's chest.

Absolutely sterling work Harry!! `

As John Wooden once said `persistence is the key`!
