Training the House Down - your club's preseason so far

New recruits Tom Bell and Ryan Bastinac are training well especially in endurance running (one of the main focuses this year). Gardiner, Beams and McGrath are set to comeback into full training after the Christmas break. Draftees are settling in well, and several 2-4th year players look to be in the best conditions, especially within the likes of Nick Robertson who is training the house down.

If being traded makes it click for Basti that if he works 10 per cent harder, he'll be a very good footballer, you will have done really well in that trade.

Saw the North boys out on the weekend and none appeared to be noticeably different physically, but Taylor Garner did have a murderous kind of 1000 yard stare which I found oddly encouraging.

Just went past Arden St, some boys doing extra running session, Wells, McDonald, Wright and Macmillan looking very good.

Geelong as a whole ABSOLUTELY training the house down.....

That's just to fit Dangerfields head in.

Jimmy Toumpas sent shockwaves through the Port Adelaide dressing room in scenes not seen since the famous Andrew Walker incident a few years back. He rocked up to the first 3km time trial of the preseason wearing a cap, notable as he was the only player to equip himself with one. He subsequently finished in sixth place, although there is some conjecture as to what sort of impact the hat played in the ordeal. Ken Hinkley had some interesting words to say after the event. "Look, bubblegum, lemon and pandemonium all have an 'm' in them. Birthdays mean nothing to mountains and trees grow and fall."

Travis Boak has continued to stamp his mark, picking up a variety of stamps from the cheap as chips craft section. It has been rumoured that his favourite stamps are of a train and a star with the caption 'good job' underneath the imagery. Robbie Gray has been said to have pestered Travisy about sharing his stamps among the playing group to which he has apparently agreed to. Morale is high.

Westhoffy and Hartletty have bulked up immensely. Westhoffy has apparently put on 500 grams to weigh a staggering 15% more than at the same time last year. Broadbenty and Pittardy have been working on their offensive aerial intercept collecting drives, implementing a range of strategies and high-performance training methods to their increasing workloads while adjusting their metabolic retention capabilities through the use of advanced sports technology and training methods.

Of the new recruits, Snellingy and Bonnery have hit the track hard on a number of occasions, but have picked themselves up each time and continued on with training.

Look for rapid improvement from Sam the Port Adelaide Man of Mystery Gray, who this year successfully cooked 7 steaks all medium rare for himself and six dwarves before then devouring 16 raw eggs with his arms tied behind his back on June 16th. He'll be looking to increase on these returns in 2016 and apparently once walked in on a strange scene involving his parents when he was 17. After being startled by a nightmare, Sam, or 'Samuel' for short, entered his parents room with the intention of sleeping in between them that night where he would be safe. Upon opening the door, Sam found his dad dressed in nothing but a bath mat tied around his neck like a cape, while his mother had sticky taped six empty toilet rolls to her head as she rubbed his fathers left hairy nipple with her elbow while singing the national anthem.

All in all Port Adelaide looks set for a massive year in 2016, possibly bigger than the grand canyon. We have upped performance levels by 53.6% across all areas and have strategized our attack methods, ready to assault 2016 with vigour and conviction as we strive to once again lead the national footballing agency in to the new millenium with the speed of one thousand ostriches.

And this is why you should do drugs kids.

Not going to name 10+ players and turn this into a 'my team is ready to do big things' type thread but look out for Taylor Walker in 2016.
Very much looking forward to Walker's year. Trusting his knee continues well I think we'll be looking at one of the league's finest captains.

Kerridge has made the biggest impact on the track since crossing from the Crows. Absolute lock for round 1.
Thomas is looking good as well.
Do you think Carlton will go with a almost fully new line up in round 1, or put some senior guys in to soften the blow?

'A almost fully new line up' - equating to 74.9% of the line up being almost fully new. This will provide us with a 35% boost to goals scored compared to Rd1 2015, divided by a 15 knot wind advantage in the first qtr equals 25.1% of senior guys softening the blow inhaled thru Dustin Martins hollowchopstick

At the dogs Tom Boyd has slimmed down, Bailey Dale has bulked up, Matt Boyd is still a fitness freak and Liberatore looks good early.

Bontempelli hasn't trained yet and looks worrying
Wow is his injury public?

I think someone of his quality wont need a massive pre season to have an impact. Still if he isnt running by now it may hurt.

Had a hip clean out. Seems to be taking a while to heal.

He took part in the great ocean road cycle we did though, and is expected to start running after Christmas

Kerridge will play for sure, probably Lamb. Plowman would have but he's injured. Sumner would be 50/50 at the moment. Weitering will, Curnow might.

Have no idea how the Dogs are doing as most of it is in-house nowadays. Just know Bontempeli hasn't started running yet and Caleb Daniel and Bailey Dale are training with the midfield group with the centre clearances.

Wallis seems a leader. But with Libba back who knows how they will play together? We struggled to find him a role with Libba in the side under Macca's coaching. Which is strange because they were an awesome combo at the U18 level.

I'm hoping with Boyd playing in the backline they can gel with each other more in the midfield. They had a great connection at the Cannons. Might see Wallis playing that inside/outside role and Libba the total inside mid.

I can categorically say that Hawthorn have had a fairly lackluster 10 day camp in maroochydoore . More about fun and games and piss farting around then hard training.
