Can't remember Ramsey ever being over-hyped. Was aways highly rated and always thought of as a player with potential (that hasn't been realised yet IMO). But no-one was ever talking about him as potentially one of the best in the game.

IMO Powell was only ever compared to Scholes because he had a good long range shot. Never had the passing range, technical ability or engine that Scholes had.

We actually have quite good youth coming through. Sterling is just the first example but you will see more over the coming years.
