Just seems to be the talk from having a look around Twitter.
Right you are. Seems to be because we've outbid you and his current club has persuaded him to come to us.

Could be done in a couple of days.

Yeah seemed to be that he wanted Chelsea but was talked out of it.

Higher fee is also significant because a large portion goes to Dinamo Zagreb.

If its true, I'm OK with him being talked out of it. Don't care where the fee goes either. Our owners have the money so its not a big deal.

Young guy banging in goals, if he keeps it up the worst thing that happens for Leicester is a profit.

They're paying 3 million for their own player who has scored 3 goals in the French league (2 of which were penalties).

Not great business.

Not really. We paid £10m (and now £13m) for his potential, not for an experienced campaigner. You're assuming that we were expecting a significant instant impact for that investment, which given we sent him straight out on loan seems unlikely. At just 19 years old his value to us is unlikely to be fully realised for a few years yet, so declaring him a waste of money at this stage seems to be a bit premature to put it lightly! I suppose it depends on how high you think his potential is.

Given Sturridge's injury concerns we no doubt would've been looking at bringing in another striker in this window, and while not ideal, under the circumstances adding £3m to Origi's transfer fee so we can bring him back into the fold 5 months early is certainly more cost effective than spending £15-20m on another new striker in a more restricted mid-season transfer market.

Spending three million to bring back someone 6 months early who has only shown promise and potential at this stage and indirectly placing pressure on him to solve our striker woes is definitely a waste of money imo. Hes not the solution for this season so it becomes a bit of a waste.

Arsenal has made personal contact with Loic Perrin, but hasn't approached Saint Etienne with an offer yet, this according to the player himself
180cm (5'11") as a CB? Bit on the short side?

Roberto Carlos was 168cm but has one of the highest leaps I've ever seen. Bloke had springs in his legs and his thighs were the size of ******* tree trunks.
Very true. But he was a) a freak of nature and b) spent most of this time at FB.

My point was, height isn't so important if you can leap high.
Fair call. I don't know enough about Perrin to know if that's the case. I know he's a good defender. I just wonder about that height as CB's in the EPL seem to be taller as a 'requisite'.

That extra 3 million on the top of the original 10 million fee makes a 30% increase on what you paid for him originally.

He is unlikely to come in and score goals for you (he's failed to do it in a lesser league) so he's just an extra player in the squad. 3 million in itself is not a great deal but it was unnecessary. That can go to funding a new players wages for a year for instance.

Ideally, you would have done one of the following:

1. Don't loan him out to begin with. Was always unlikely as you paid decent for Balotelli and Lambert was back up.

2. Keep him on loan until the end of the season. You don't lose 3 mil for 5 months of playing someone with no real experience.

I'm not saying he won't be any good but he's unlikely to justify a 3 mil price tag for the rest of this season. It's just not good business to be losing money on players you already have.

20k people signed an online petition to dissuade the signing of Evans. The saga continues.

Just read up a bit about him, so he got found guilty of raping a girl who was deemed too drunk to consent. Has also maintained his innocence in it. Unless I'm interpreting it wrong it was very much a 50/50 on guilty and not guilty.

Did that GK who killed that kid in a car get another gig? Can't recall.

Put better in less words. Kudos.

I'm pretty sure he did. Piers was talking about it last night.

Yeppers. Still at the club he signed with after the incident.

Actually, seems he signed with his original club so ... that was weird.

I wouldn't be too concerned about his height. The main thing is he's a specialist centre half. An experienced one at that. Not a full back forced to play out of position to fill in there.

We've had enough of that this season. Time to actually buy a specialist centre half. Hopefully this eventuates.
