Why are people so surprised by Alves snubbing city?
PSG can offer the same money as them and clearly are a bigger more prestigious club, its not rocket science.

PSG had many years of struggle until they got a rich owner...
if you look up their record.

Alves was influenced by his wife apparently ..
she wanted the Paris move. No idea why seeing as the place is a hellhole with sky high tax .

psg v city?
im picking psg everyday

I love it. In a summer where City have bid farewell to Clichy, Zabaleta, Sagna and even Navas who could all play RB, they miss out of Dani Alves, which means Levy will absolutely bleed them dry for Walker.

Hopefully he says no deal. Got rid of their RB's and missed Alves. Make them buy their 3rd choice and then find a back up as well. Time for Daniel to grow a pair.

PSG do their contracts in Euros after tax.

Yeah checks out.

You should make a move for Niasse, in all honesty think he'd be a very good striker at this level but just out of our price range.

From all reports we have a 12 million pound budget to work with. If you can't afford Niasse then there's no way we can. On top of that, Josh Maja>Niasse.

Think we're probably working on half of that. Although we did have a 6m bid rejected for Zohore so who knows.

sounds like psg swooped on with 14 mil a year. plus his new wife lives and works in paris.

still, get him to sign the deal. verbal agreement and then just let it sit? absolute amateur.

To be fair, Dani Alves did say when he joined Juventus that he wanted a challenge and not to coast in good sides. Could explain why he'd join PSG over City.

im sure the club couldve made it plenty challenging for him. stick him next to mangala and otamendi

Would have thought City was more a challenge than PSG..

If we got 2 strikers, a decent midfielder (Ryan Woods of Brentford fame is being linked), a decent keeper and new full backs along with maybe another winger or two then we'd do alright IMO. Jonny Hayes was one I wanted big time but he went to Celtic. McGeady was good last season for Preston but **** me between bald patch as manager and now him being linked with us it's looking to be the most uninspiring summer I've had as a Sunderland fan.

From all reports I've seen, PSG are looking at Mangala after missing out on Pepe.

Would have thought my whole comment was laced with sarcasm but I might need to do better next time on that one.

I genuinely don't understand why we haven't tried flogging Marshall to you guys. He needs a new club to revitalise himself, but there's a very good keeper in there, he's just shot of confidence with us. Getting his wages off our books would be a huge boost.

We have ****all money and was only into Ruddy because he was free. I agree that Marshall is a good keeper but we wouldn't be able to afford him.

We wouldn't take a fee for him I wouldn't think, it'd just be a matter of matching his wages, and his wages have taken a cut in the C'ship so surely affordable.

But who knows.
