Agree, while not cheap(or great) he's a pretty versatile player. Would have been handy for us and filled a few holes. He's a good squad signing and will be be good for Pool as long as he's not a Cout replacement.

I'm starting to get really worried that we've missed to many targets and are going to be left short in a few areas.

Apparently Arsenal didn't want to sell to us, so we waited for Chelsea to make an offer for Chamberlain and then matched it, leaving them with no choice but to accept. Smart.

Spending £35m on him with 1 year left on his contract still seems excessive to me though, but if it doesn't preclude us from signing our other top targets I'm not too fussed. We'll see.

We're potentially putting together a seriously strong and balanced looking squad. Van Dijk is still the critical one for me.
