I was hoping L'Pool would be sniffing around for him but due to him being 31 soon I wouldn't pay more than 20mil as it would be a (great) short term solution.

If we sold him to you guys he’d probably end up dominating. I hope we stop selling players to rivals.

Jurg does not play back 3s, besides, Luiz is close to past it

We have enough defenders with a tendency for crazy errors, we don't need another one. Conte made the most outta him but Luiz is not someone you can trust long term

Klopp was using a back 3 of sorts for the past month before the Sevilla game when we parked the bus.

Gomez didn't go up the ground at all, that's why our form turned around a bit.

That still wasn't really a back 3, a back 4 with one full back bombing up still doesn't make it more secure. Gomez didn't bomb against Sevilla and he was having trouble 1st half

Our form turned around against wha, Maribor? West Ham? Huddersfield at home? Not conceding against those doesn't really mean anything

Still felt that Gomez staying back since the Huddersfield game was the right amount of balance/cover in the side compared to the games before that.

Sevilla we parked the bus in the 2nd half and Moreno cost us, Chelsea we had 2 back with Moreno and Gomez going up the pitch and ended up drawing.

He's played for PSG, Chelsea and is being talked about going to Real. WTF would he look at Liverpool?

When he first got dropped and wasn't linked with anyone I said in a matchday thread that I'd love to have him. But if Real want him then we have no chance.

If VVD goes anywhere other than Liverpool and we end up with some cheap CB from Wolves I might cry.

Still felt that Gomez staying back since the Huddersfield game was the right amount of balance/cover in the side compared to the games before that.

Huddersfield didn't even try to score, so it made little difference

We can buy better than Luiz, well in theory.... FSG will end up fluffing negotiations over a chocolate milk and we'll end up with nothing again

Yeah he should stay. He's either injured or complaining that he doesn't get enough game time when he's rarely fit.

Sturridge and Solanke don't play enough. I reckon Firmino starts in League/Champions league games with Sturridge coming off the bench and Solanke starts in our FA cup games.

I think Luiz will push hard to get out in January now that it looks like Christensen has replaced him. He's got a WC spot to try and hold onto.

And it's great that we don't need to spend big to replace him, AC could end being a 15 year player for us. Nice to finally have an academy guy grab his spot when given the chance.
