You said the same about Robbo.
Yeah but Jod is a bit of a snob. Head up a liverbird’s arse oblivious to most things.

Not far off for output that Saint-Maximin.

I'd like to see Saint-Maximin with a decent side around him though.

Klopp likes a diamond in the rough astute purchase. Its the only way to compete against oil money. If he wants Bowen and ends up signing him that's good enough for me.

He's not even a diamond in the rough lol he's performing strongly for the Hammers.

He is doing well but 11 goals in 68 PL appearances is hardly elite.

Like Mane & Salah he would be bought for his potential to develop further and Jurg would likely wait umtil the summer window for a reasonable deal. Personally I think he has the potential to be a Mane / Salah level player, I hope we do sign him.

Who said he was elite? He's in his second season in the PL playing for a side with other focal points to their attack in Antonio and for the first chunk of this season, Benrahma, and he's more than holding his own. He'll continue to develop and improve the more he plays in the PL.

Stay off the weed bro. Mane has been the best right winger in the world for about 4 years. Salah is now probably THE best player on the planet.

Bowen will never be either of those things.

I dont mind us taking a gamble on a guy like Robbo for 8 million but I've heard reports that West Ham were wanting upwards of 60 million for Bowen. Yeah no. We could throw that and another 40 million and get Bellingham.

He scored 50 goals in the Championship as a 22/23 year old, I think you might be just slightly underestimating his potential. He's still only 24.

I think Moyes has probably asked him to do more for the team vs. say his Hull days when he was more so the main man, that said I think he can definitely score more for us than what he has so far.

Was Mane the best right winger in the world when he was at Southampton, or was he an inconsistent young player with huge upside that a world class manager could mould in to something special?

I find it crazy that you would still question Klopp in the transfer market after 6 years of getting nearly all his transfers spot on. Mane, Wijnaldum, Robertson, Ox... all questioned, all have ended up being important players for a hugely successful team.

I'm not convinced Klopp is in to Bowen in terms of wanting to sign him, but if he is then why should we question it?

Because Jod can't miss an opportunity to shit on a player he sees as beneath Liverpool.

I dont know if underestimating him. He did score 50 goals in the championship but that wasnt like one season haha. He scored 52 goals in 124 Championship games over three season for a goal every 2.38 games.

That's pretty good but as he has come up to the top level that has dramatically fallen away as he has faced tougher opposition. In the Premier League he has just 11 goals in 61 games which is good for a goal every 5.54 games.

Compare that to Mane since joining Liverpool has 80 goals in 172 PL games or a goal every 2.15 games or Mo Salah who has 105 goals in 155 PL games for a goal every 1.47 games and the difference is vast.

He'd be decent depth but surely we're not forking out 65 million for a depth wide player.

In his defence I'm sure he would score more goals in a better side that creates more chances and has more of the ball but would it be a jump from 5.54 to 2.1 or 1.4. Unlikely. It's just too much outlay for someone who wont be able to replicate Mane or Salah. If we are gonna spend 65 million, you would want it to be on someone who can have the same sort of numbers as those two.

No but you could see Mane could be something greater, he had huge potential which Klopp moulded spectacularly. Look I think Klopp could improve Bowen massively, he's the best manager in the world. But I dont think he could achieve Mane/Mo type levels. If he was to come in he would be a rotation/depth player and for the money West Ham would ask I think it would be a bridge too far.

I'm also not convinced Klopp is into Bowen either. There was random rumours in the summer and now because Klopp has spoken about Bowen before we play West Ham all those rumours are back. Of course the soundbites leave out how Klopp was specifically asked about West Hams forwards and after Klopp spoke highly of Bowen, he in turn spoke highly of Antonio and Benrahma. There is nothing in it IMO.

I didn't suggest it was one season, scoring 50 goals over three seasons shows consistency at a pretty young age.

It does, at a lower level. As he came up to the top level, those numbers regressed quite a lot. Which happens for a lot of players.

Look at Pukki for example. 29 in the Championship, 11 in the Premier League, 26 in the championship, 3 in 11 so far in the Premier League.

Levels.

Are you honestly suggesting Bowen is a Championship quality player?

Lol.
