Replacing Cucu?

He hasn't gone anywhere to be replaced.

Hardly ideal either, he's right footed isn't he?
Yeah if you sell him. Makes sense to line up a replacement. Clubs often purchase the replacement before selling. He is right footed. Did quite well last season in the prem.

No chance. Even 'if' he performs well, playing at a smaller club makes it harder to get in.
Star man vs. good player. His numbers alone being the main man give him a chance. Unless West Ham were in the top 4 by November and he was a key reason for it he was never making it in there. If Forrest are mid-table by November it is most likely due to Lingard having a purple patch and getting in. Guys like Stewart Downing (although that was largely due to him being the only English left footer at the time) have made it from mid-table/lower-half sides in the past even Teddy Sherringham and Anderton when with us when thats where were at.

BREAKING: Barcelona and Sevilla have reached an initial agreement of €50M fixed + €10M in variables for the transfer of Jules Koundé. He will sign a contract until 2026. Announcement expected this week. ‬

Brilliant article. Never agreed more with a single paragraph than this one

Is it great to have Nottingham Forest back in the Premier League or are they getting above their station by actually trying to stay there? After the Reds beat Huddersfield they were briefly everyone's second club again, unless you're a Huddersfield fan. Now they have spent heavily to try and make sure their 23-year exile doesn't last one season and suddenly they're just too ambitious for some.
West Ham fans - and a seemingly constantly outraged Richard Keys - can't fathom why Jesse Lingard would reject them as some talkSPORT pundits saying he's throwing his career away. What do people want Forest to do? A year ago Jamie O'Hara called Norwich an embarrassment to the league and said it should be cut to 18 teams as they spent relatively little after promotion.

Would rather Forest try and stay up than have another Fulham/Norwich.

[as] Xavi won't leave Azpilicueta hanging - The coach has promised him that the club will continue to support his signing and that it is independent of the Koundé operation

Which players made it previously is largely irrelevant - it's only worth looking at the trends of the current manager.

I wouldn't call Forest a small club..
Not small, smaller.

Mind you, winning a European championship before most of us were born doesn't/shouldn't make them big really. There's history there clearly but they've done nothing for quite a while.

Gary Neville only cares because United want to sign De Jong. It has become an embarrassing saga for United, to the point they’ve had to call in the former legends.

The kid obviously doesn’t want to go there so just let it go. Even if it does get done in the end I wouldn’t want someone who clearly tried his hardest to avoid coming.

Maybe he does want to join Utd but is forcing Barca’s hand on the millions he is owed. Why on earth would he give a shit about an employer who doesn’t pay his rightful wages?

Barcelona are still doing all they can to force him out and not have to pay out what they owe him, to a point that he has been told he'll be played as a CB by Xavi.

The news stories have died off for about a week now from England. Deal in place for when/if Barcelona sort out the wage issue. No issues on player side.

United are working on outgoings and looking at another attacker. Just a matter of who blinks first out of Barca and FDJ.

Then accept the deal on offer at Utd. Complete the transfer and then get a lawyer to take Barca to civil court over wages.

The G. Neville comments are really just continuing on from a current theme from other football people. People are starting to publicly question what Barca are doing and how Barca are making signings when they have this stand off with a player.

They have several players signed who are still not registered.

Guess it depends on how he is owed the wages, it's legal to re-negotiate wages which a large amount of players did but a lot did with the agreement to receive higher wages down the line and bonuses. I think a lot of the FDJ wage issue is for what will be owed as a bonus and future wage so if he leaves Barca would probably be confident in winning that court case. So negotiate now for a payoff for wages already given up.
