No really.

You scout youth but you don't scout * all else outside of that.

Who have you signed that wasn't already a name player at another club?
seeing as there are about 10 other men's clubs in the city football group I reckon a fair bit of scouting happens

That's the point. They don't have to put in anywhere near as much effort to identify players that are realistic targets as clubs like ours do because that pool is far larger and far more gettable for them.
They've got doe brother. Why would those with doe go through the bother of producing talent from within their own club? Huddersfield, from memory, thought they could play the Man City/Chelsea game with bugger all funds and got rid of their academy/youth sides and they are paying the price.

My club, Arsenal, are going back to their roots by balancing the club production line and the buying of proven Premier League talent as well as talent from abroad they identify as having the right characteristics, and team ethos, as well as footballing ability that have a chance of making it in the Premier League. They are investing in their own production line and in young players from elsewhere and they will reap the benefits for years to come because this model is sustainable.

In the past, post Invincibles, Arsenal types boasted about the great Arsenal youth products but that was just a fallacy. The young lads that were coming through were left to rot on the bench or not near the first team and instead, Wenger bought continental players that were lacking and lowered the bar so low, that making the European Cup/Champions League was considered a "trophy" even though Arsenal, really, just made up the numbers and were not serious contenders.

Man City and Chelsea and now Newcastle have a different model to all other clubs (except maybe Man U); it's called inexhaustible funds although it will be interesting to see what happens to Chelsea now that they have lost their mega rich benefactor.

These clubs are working to their strengths and we cant' have a go at them for doing so.

I'm running the knockout comp again for anyone interested!

Spending £50m on a LWB when you've got Ben Chilwell in the squad is an interesting decision. Is there concern that he might not be the same player after long-term injury or does Boehly not know that he exists?
We need 2 good ones per side so we can rotate. Tuchels relies heavily on his wingbacks being almost his main attacking threat. In the 6 games James and Chilwell played together we won all of them scoring 18 and conceding 1.

Plus he also played as a LCB a few times so that's handy too.

And if it means no more Alonso hell yeah, do it. The kid is quality.

Haha **** me. We just signed Sterling and KK not long ago and are about to sign Cucurella(by the sounds of things) and are trying for one of Fofana or Gvardiol next.

Not sure we are having that bad of a window tbh. It's been a bit slow but we're shopping top shelf. Holding Broja has been a huge plus too.
