Personally think Werner is a good fit for Tottenham and the style of football they're playing. Outside of Son there isn't much genuine speed and he'll definitely offer that. Based on what I've seen of him I also rate him as a better option than Richarlison. They both have their weaknesses and strengths (Richarlison moves and presents well and is good in the air) but think Werner is a better fit and more versatile.

Not sure if it's official yet? But they do need him in asap as without Son they will struggle to challenge teams with pace.

Johnson’s pretty quick

Johnson’s pretty quick

He is but he's miles off being the player we shelled out a heap of dough to get.

Werner is lightning but wouldn't hit the side of a barn. It's a low risk depth play from Spurs and a smart one given Sonny is away. If Werner fails then we send him back. If not we spend 15m and it's a bargain. I don't especially rate him though. He's a straight line runner with little else to his game and if he ain't scoring goals then we may as well play with 10.

I get it and I trust Ange to get a tune out of Werner but I'll be watching from behind the couch.

yeah fair enough, from what I've seen he's also pretty average as well with the ball and that probably makes him look slower. for all complaints about Werner he'll offer more than Johnson does (right now imo).

Yeah I don’t think it’s a silly move and fairly low risk and fairly cheap buy option if he succeeds. Especially with Son and Veliz out for few weeks. Johnson seems better suited on the right so assume Werner on the left with Kulusevski back in the middle until Maddison returns.

Werner on loan with an option to buy at 15m is very shrewd business. Not much risk at all from Spurs. Who knows - he may even rediscover his pre Chelsea form. If he doesn't he can become squad depth upon Sons return from Asian Cup.

Maddison should only be out for a couple more games now. United and the FA cup 4th round

Ange's whole system is designed for the striker to have the discipline to run to the right spot EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Most of the time the striker will be lucky to have half a dozen touches for the game with the way he sets up if the striker is playing the role properly.

Kyogo is capable of scoring some good goals but 3/4 of them are tap ins because he is exactly where he is supposed to be in the system.

Son can offer that at Spurs but it is a bit of a waste of his ability if the chances aren't created for him. Richarlison doesn't have the discipline to do that. Werner fits the mould with not a lot of downside risk, if it doesn't work out he goes back at the end of the season.

Probably left wing if Philogene shifts to right wing.
Sounds like you’ve won the race, beating half a dozen other clubs. James Pearce has reported it’s happening.

Best for both parties really. Poch doesn't rate him, but he will excel there I reckon.
Really dumb stuff from Poch. His use of the left fullback position all season has been questionable, from Chilwell being used as a winger, Maasten not getting a sniff, Cucurella given too many chances and Colwill shoehorned in there.
