That Arshavin story seems to have originated from the Mirror though.

And it's one of the worst articles I've ever read. Complete guesses. Not even good ones.

Please, we're very likely to balls it up. Nasri was meant to be a sure thing.

Nasri 'agrees Arsenal contract'

Arsenal have won the race to sign France midfielder Samir Nasri from Marseille, BBC Sport understands.

The 20-year-old, who has been dubbed the new Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly agreed a four-year contract and will join after Euro 2008.

Nasri, who has made two appearances at this summer's European Championship, has spent the last four seasons with the French side.

He came to prominence in France's U-17 European Championship side in 2004.

The 20-year-old is believed to have a £13.5m buy-out clause in his contract.

Nasri joined Marseille as a nine-year-old and made his league debut during the 2004-2005 season.

Last season, Nasri, who can play on either wing, won the French first division's young player of the year crown and was voted Marseille's player of the year by fans.

This campaign he scored six goals in 30 games for the French outfit with the final strike in his tally coming in the 4-3 win over Strasbourg that helped secure Marseille's berth in next season's Champions League.

Nasri had appeared at various youth international levels for France before winning the first of seven senior caps in 2007, though he only came on as a substitute as Les Bleus exited Euro 2008.

The BBC's Football Correspondent Jonathan Legard said: "Arsene Wenger had hoped to complete the deal before Euro 2008 but now the official announcement will come after the tournament. "He could be a replacement for Alexander Hleb whose future remains the subject of speculation."

I'm still dubious. ;)

No issues with Jo transfer
19 June 2008 | 13:19 - PA Sport

Manchester City's pursuit of CSKA Moscow striker Jo will not be affected by third-party ownership issues, according to the player's advisor Kia Joorabchian.

The anticipated transfer has been thrown into doubt because of new Premier League rules which state third-party ownership is not allowed.

Mark Hughes remains keen to bring the highly-rated 21-year-old Brazil international to Eastlands but there has been further speculation that the deal would be vetoed because of question marks over the player's ownership.

There were fears the move may cause a repeat of the saga which followed Carlos Tevez's controversial switch to West Ham, when the Argentina star's contract had been owned by a third party - a situation strictly forbidden under Premier League rules.

City had become concerned over the matter and executive chairman Garry Cook contacted league chairman Dave Richards for clarification.

"Jo is a player who interests us and we are currently in discussions with CSKA Moscow and his representatives. We are hopeful of progress," Cook said.

"We are keeping in contact with the Premier League on the issue."

"Manchester City is fully aware of the rules regarding third-party ownership of players and any transfers will be completed to Premier League regulations."

Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson also reiterated that their position on £18million-rated ($A37.28million) Jo, who is also believed to be a target for AC Milan, remained clear.

Johnson said in The Sun: "We are aware of the situation with Jo and the rules are very clear. At the Premier League AGM held two weeks ago it was agreed that third-party ownership of any player will not be allowed."

"While that situation is common in countries like Spain and Portugal, we agreed that it is not tolerable here."

"We want to ensure no-one can accuse us of compromising the integrity of the competition, so we have stated that third-party ownership is illegal."

"We believe this is in the best interests of the Premier League and our clubs and we think we are economically strong enough to impose it."

But a spokesman for Joorabchian told PA Sport that there are had been some confusion and there were 'categorically' no third-party issues involved with the transfer of the Brazilian.

He said: "There has been a lot of confusion and incorrect information about the ownership of Jo."

"Kia, who is acting as Jo's advisor, wishes to stress that categorically no third-party ownership issues are involved with the transfer of the player to Manchester City or any other club."

"CSKA Moscow have an agreement in place with his previous club Corinthians, who would collect a certain percentage of the sell-on fee."

"This is not, however, a third-party ownership. It is an arrangement between two clubs and is no different from any other deals which contain such clauses."

"The agreement was put in place when CSKA signed him from the Brazilian club which is contrary to some reports which have appeared elsewhere."

"Kia fully understands the rules regarding third-party ownership and the issue is not holding up any possible transfer."

Hleb in talks with Barcelona. A fee of around 13-14 million I heard. Seems like a goer.

Looks like we've offered €29m for Adebayor.. and there is talk of a straight swap for Eto'o instead.. i like Adebayor but i think we could sign better. Much better.

Its such a joke. Roma play very good football and well Risse is Risse. He's shit. Max Tonetto is the first choice LB and i cant see him replacing him. He'll be warming the pine i hope for Roma's sake.

Roma have reportedly been interested in Silvestre, Saha, and Kewell.

I guess they feel that their club doctor has too much free time on his hands.

Geeze....AS Roma will take anyone.

North Melbourne should give them a call and see if they'll take Leigh Brown.

"He spoke to Michael about the history of the club and of the potential for the future."

"He (Laudrup) was not sure about Blackburn before the meeting, but he is now thinking very seriously about this club."

Will be very interested in where he and Zico end up.
