They have 5 defenders who have played EPL football. Moritz Volz is the bench warmer. Calling him a defender is a bit generous. They need to sell Niemi, Bouazza, Cook, Johnson, Dempsey + a few more to finance a move for some actual defenders.

I still remember one game when he got turned around and he didnt even bother to turn around and put pressure on the bloke. Keller had to charge out like a lunatic and somehow stopped a certain goal.

Thing is, when you're buying abroad there's always the risk a player won't adapt to England, probably moreso than any other league. And when you're a club like Fulham and almost certainly battling relegation, you need to have as many proven EPL performers as possible.

But when you're being quoted 10.5 million for Andy Johnson, it's time to move on. He's worth about half of that, and injury prone. And looks like a penis.

The English market is ridiculous, and avoidable whenever possible. Unfortunately we're in the position of having to shop there because of the UCL 4+4. That's why bringing in so many young players is such a good idea. They'll all qualify as club trained, and therefore home-grown. Hell, I think Danny Agger qualifies as club trained by January 09.

Wigan have made a £3.5m bid for Lee Cattermole.

Hasn't really gone forward in his career, but I think at that price he would be a good signing for a club like Wigan.

He's only 20 years old and will turn into a very good EPL player imho. He is probably getting a little impatient as a result of getting his chance at such an early age, and I think/hope he will do really well at Wigan. Hopefully we'll put a sell on clause in there as well
