Troy Broadbridge Missing

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Boys and Girls, as we all know the other thread about the champion football player, Troy Broadbridge, was shut-down. This was very disappointing for me.

I made one particular comment about there being such a big deal for one young man being lost, dead in my honest opinion.

My aim for that post was to prove to you humans out there that he is not an important person, meaning, what about all the other Phuketians out there?

You people are ************n racist bastards.

Are you happy now? You are just as bad as the ******** called Alexander Downer.

I wasn't bagging this board for talking about Broadbridge.

I was talking about the media leading off every bit of coverage with Troy Broadbridge is still missing...as i said..he is one of 68,000 people possibly dead. He is not more important than the next person.

And if you need a footballer to be able to relate to the issue easier than it surely is a sorry state of affairs.

If you think the media have gone over the top about Broadbridge, then read THIS

It's not just the aussie media. I was watching BBC world on the day and they recounted the story of some tourists who lost their clothing from the beach while they were out swimming.

I think you have it wrong. For many people here, including myself, who didn't know anyone personally who have been affected by this tragity, he puts a name and a face of a person we 'know' who has been affects. Other stories get to me just as much as his, but because im a football follower and a football player is missing it kinda hit home, but its not saying I only care about him, Im interested in all the aussies and I hope for all the family and friends of the missing that they find their loved ones so they can feel closure.

Was watching ET and they were reporting on a model that injured herself from the tsunami's. Even her boyfriend was swept away and they hardly made any notice to that, or the other 80,000 people dead. The whole time they were worrying about an injured model. If that's how it mostly is in the states with their media then that's just low. Fair enough she was injured and survived but they hardly took notice of well, let's be honest what will turn out to be 100,000 dead.

Come on guys.....not really the time to be arguing your differences in opinion.

Troy come home safe.....please!!!!!

Does anyone know who would be the best agency to make a donation to???

What about all the other people? Oh, they are certainly not top class professional athletes, are they not?

Disgraceful.

For Gods sake go away, unfortuantly for your self nobody here gives 2 stuffs about what your saying so off to the Al Quador board mate.

Troy is a good footballer who must have had tremendous heart and will power to do what he has done, we can only hope that he is alive and strung out somewhere. My honest feeling is that he is not and i wouldnt be suprised if his death is announced within 24 hours, it is just to long and a far to cruel tragedy for him to be missing and alive at this stage.

I hope everyone is praying and hoping for him,his family and most importantly his wife at this stage.

cheers boys

I think everybody hear just needs to chill out.

Go read a book or something. There's nothing anyone here can do but chuck a few bucks at a chairty, then sit this one out and hope it turns out alright.

All this pent up anger that's been going around in one big stupid circle since page one of this thread ain't doing anyone good.

No. I am here to say what I may say to prove how narrow minded many of you are.

Is Troy Broadbridge all the hell you care about?

That, in fact is disgraceful.

What about the other people, the millions of humans who have died?

I don't see any caring words for them.

Their homes are destroyed, do you not know how long it will take for them to live a proper life again? It's no doubt worse to be living their life there than to be dead.

Our Mr. Foriegn Minister only cares about transporting the Australian's there in Thailand. Bring them back home.
Why not any one else?

Ben, it is not that we do not care about the others who have been killed - it is devastating to say the least - but Troy Broadbridge puts a face to the names of those thousands missing and dead, which is why he means more to us than those who we have not seen/met before. Just as those who know others who have been killed feel more affected by those they have lost than by others killed. It just makes sense to feel affected more by the death/disapearance of someone you know of.

In response to that, ou clear moron, of course AUSTRALIA'S foreign ministers main prioity would be the wellbeing of AUSTRALIANS. You should get off the boards, where people are genuinely worried for the safety of this young man. You are simply offending people.

Also, if our minister can only care about the Australians, who can care about the Phuketians? Who is left to help? Certainly not them when they are in trouble.

What don't you understand? It is my belief that Australia's priority before all others is to ensure the safety and safe return of all injured, dead, and safe Australians back to our shores. After that, we can start in really assisting the affected countries to get back on their feet. The australian Foreign Minister, Mr. Downer, has a priority to look after the people he represents.

We have pledged ove $35Million in aid and support, as well as doctors and specialists. There is little more we can do at the moment. What else to you suggest we do?
