Deadwood is great. Great characters as well, not all good or evil, just survivors.
Suffered a bit with the "We need to wrap this up" writing at the end but overall the series was pretty solid.

I think the end came quicker than the producers thought, but they did a reasonable job of providing an ending that fit with the story, as well as tidying up the character arcs that were in play. (infinitely better than the Thrones wrap up)
Not sure what season you're up to so I'll avoid any spoilers but the George Hearst character towards the end was the only one that felt like it didn't get fulfilled.
