A change.org petition to have Fraser Anning removed from Parliament which will have absolutely no effect has over 1M votes yet the votes of only 19 people, probably just family and friends, were enough to get him into Parliament in the first place. Democracy

He could be removed by an act of the senate, but it’d be fairly pointless since he’s gone in a couple of months anyway and his replacement would be a One Nation candidate likely to be a stronger incumbent. It’d be a a great gesture in principle but not in pragmatic terms.

(Oh and if it happened the petition would have had little to nothing to do with it)

I wanted way more schadenfreudewith rich millennials and influencers, not hard luck stories about decent people that were hoodwinked and scammed.
