should have been a 50m penalty and certain goal but nahhh
lol we've regressed so much since then as well, can anyone imagine us getting this close to geelong on their shithole ground now?

I sometimes wonder if people feel like that because of these expectations that work has to be fulfilling and everything else, that people are defined by what they do, it is outdated ******** I reckon, rather than more acceptance in society and culture that it's ok to just have a job. It's like some sort of emotional reverse swing.

That’s possibly part of it. I think our generation and perhaps the one before were sold a bit of a fantasy that we can “be” anything we want, tying work and identity together from the get go. This is problematic because it directs people to derive their self esteem from bullsh1t like title/status and that’s pretty shaky ground.

I do think it’s important to find purpose in life though. Not in the sense of a definitive preordained purpose but something that you find enjoyable or rewarding, otherwise what’s the point farken? It could be work for some but for others it might be a hobby or family or whatever else and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Very simple - be self employed and I am serious.

The gameplan wasn't sustainable, teams worked us out, had to change it up, blah blah blah

Not really. The bloke who done my exhaust is trying to sell his business, manage yourself earn three figures before tax or more in a good year. He's had no interest though - problem is in this town if you have those skills, you can go up the mines or service industries, earn the same if not more, and take zero of it home.

Being self employed is not so appealing I guess to many people.

Which begs the question, why can't hinkley work out opposition teams game plans and plan accordingly.

Rhetorical question;)
He's dumb as shit

Tuesday morning:
"Yerr narh they've selected small defenders so we'll match them with small forwards..."

Saturday evening:
"Youse have gotta give them full credit, we didn't got forward targets like we should have and they outplayed us but how even is this comp we can't win every game"

Wrong thread but farken

Understand your thinking as I have a reasonably good working knowledge of The Hill from my livestock buying days.

Lot of places closing lately, not because of lack of business, but the people moving on and selling can't find anyone to take them on. It's a shame but that's the culture we live in.

Then people get in a spin about the town dying, yadda yadda yadda, get negativity going, when that isn't the case. Still a lot of money around, less people willing to do what it takes to get some of it, when arguably it's never been easier with the technology available to be a business owner.

Please tell me you hurled in a Maserati.

Nah just gave the guy some lip then passed out. He booted us out before we got to our hotel.

I've never really been a 'be happy at work' person, never understood it. It's just some stuff to do to make money, the more money the better and a sense of surety is nice too. I struggle to relate to people who feel any different.
I like my job. But not the pressure that comes from above. Not sure if you can seperate the two.

All car dashes look the same now. Two round gauges separated by an LCD display.

One of the reasons I prefer older vehicles. You spend more time looking at the inside of your car than the outside so makes sense that it should be held to equal importance.

I also like hideous tacky overloads of things so the abundance of gauges and buttons and dials and levers appeal to me over just controlling everything through a touchscreen.

Physical gauges will be a thing of the past soon. It won’t be long until every dash will just be one big LCD screen.

Yep, looking forward to the days of a fully customizable screen, so you can moniter bugger all or be like edgie and have 15 small displays

Tasmania by and large sucks ass. Hobart is an absolute shithole and Launceston was exactly the same but smaller. Everything is colonial which is cool but none of it is maintained. All the wood on the houses is rotting and so much of the place is dilapidated. My mates house where we were staying was in a nice area but venture out and it looks nasty.

Also the roads are woefully maintained even in the CBD, and the place is a rabbit warren to navigate.

Amazing natural sight-seeing but that's about it. Most of the genuinely interesting colonial stuff was torn down ages ago because they don't like their convict heritage. Port Arthur and a smattering in Hobart is all that is really left.

Sure as hell won't be visiting again in a hurry. Thank goodness I was there to see my mate as we had a ripping time. If I was there for any other reason I'd be severely depressed.

Indeed, and it's a shame. There's something more tangible about physical gauges. Physical everything really. I understand changing technology in ways of moving forward, but is that really moving forward, or just sideways?

The irony is my HQ only has two gauges and one doesn't work. The other doesn't work properly either. The GTS version dash however which is what I want, had like, eight.

Cars have more buttons on their steering wheels now than the console.
