Seeing as Dawes wants to go to Melbourne and Collingwood is trying to get an accurate kicking running back why dosen't Collingwood do a three way deal.Melbourne want a power forward,St.Kilda
want a second ruck/forward and Collingwood want a player with kicking skills,so

1.Dawes[Coll] to Melb.
Pick twenty to Coll.

2.Stefan Martin [Melb] to St.Kilda

3.Farren Ray[St,K] to Coll.

Collingwood is chasing Clinton Young for his run and carry and kicking skills .Farren Ray has all these attributes and he delivers the player we need for kick out duties.By the way ClintoYoung72%DE

Farren Ray is extremely gettable Young not so much would be great to get both.

Collingwood want a pick and Melbourne want Dawes. No need to complicate it.

Melbourne are very unlikely to give up both pick 20 and Martin in the Dawes trade. I think it makes the suggestion a little optimistic, even unrealistic.

But for arguments sake, I think we are looking at Young more for that wing position than rebounding defender so not sure they are transferrable.

If we recruit a rebounding defender we still need to get someone who can defend, which Ray can't.

Also, if we were to play Ray in our 22 I think we would be better served further developing Seedsman at AFL level.

Well I would disagree that he cant defend.He had a great game in the 2010 drawn GF and has not been bad in the finals he has played in. He has also done tagging roles for the Saints.

I like Ray, under-rated player IMO, has good skills and is pretty strong overhead, wouldn't mind Davey either, he's stagnating at the Dees and he's a much better player than he's shown recently, soft as butter but he makes up for that with his pace and dare.
