I thought the umpiring had no factor, but 11-1 in the last is what you remember and not easy to ignore. It was still hard to watch all those tiggy touchwood frees.

Grrr, am inclined to agree. We became quite manic at the ball and the carrier after half time, and it went to another level for parts of the last quarter thought we brought a lot scrutiny on ourselves. However, as the free differential indicates, the balance was lost! On the one hand I do feel sorry for the umpires some of the time - some of the so-called rules have become adjudication by opinion - they don't seem to be helping their own cause with some shocking opinions not based on enough footy nous!

Those dropping the ball/holding the ball decisions were horrific. Have been for ages.
But they seem to happen 20m from goal and get ignored.
And the one against Bolton? Wasn’t even tackled, slipped when he tried to kick. I’m not saying they were cheating, it’s just incompetence.

Bang on - make them professional and fast - gradually hold them accountable for their decisions - only the best will thrive!

I don't often comment on the umps, but I reckon last night we were murdered by some of the calls (Bolton falling over is HTB) and non calls (multiple stone cold drops from Freo not paid).

It doesn't matter in a game decided by 10 goals, but in a game where the scoreline is 7 goals to 6 and the margin is 4 points, it's potentially the difference between making finals or not.

Now that we've lost, wouldn't surprise if we are completely checked out and might only win 1 more game for the year.

Sorry if it’s been brought up before but how the hell didnt Short get a free for in the back in the phase of play that lead to Serongs goal ? Just saw the replay and unless my eyes are playing up it looked in the back ?

I would like to know how many times we've had a lob sided free kick count in the last quarter
Can recall against Port earlier in the year it was a similar count and at least 2-3 other from memory
Think ageist Bombers we won the last quarter free kick count but don't think we've won many others if any

11-1 in the last plays a big role in trying to keep possession etc

Again it's what they don't pay to us but easily blow the whistle the other way

we have won it 7 times at an average of +3.8 frees
we have lost it 12 times at an average of -9 frees

Send the ball out of bounds deliberately? I might call it deliberate, I might not, depends on how much noise the crowd make and who's winning and who I like!

I have never understood the premise of not being able to question ump decisions after the game. There has to be accountability and transparency for how they came to their conclusions. As long as it is done with respect what is the issue? The problem a lot of fans have with umpires is for some reason they think they can rule with impunity so they act like a bunch of entitled so and so's

Dangerous tackle was only brought out against us,even the commentators thought it was a farce.

Just look at that. A 162, 162! differential between us and the dogs. How can anyone say that there is not a bias against us. We are umpired differently to the other sides. It's a disgrace

Comfortably more than twice as bad as the next worst team the Saints! How the fck is that even possible? To have such a huge discrepancy raises concerns somewhat. Although not breaking news I never thought it was that bad though.

Having watched the Freo game, there were 5 clear free kicks/rulings and 1 potential free kick that would have given us shots on goal. None of these were paid:

• Lynch held/pushed while on the lead in the 2nd. Occurred near the boundary about 45m out. This was the marginal one
• Riewoldt arm chopped and then hit high on the lead in the 2nd, 30m out dead in front. Clear as day free kick. Even Eddie McChins thought so...wasn't paid
• Lynch no 50m penalty for protected area infringement in the 2nd, 50m out dead in front. Lynch marks, a Tiger player runs past with a Freo guy on his tail, then ANOTHER Freo player runs past a second later, not following anyone. The most obvious 50m penalty ever...wasn't paid
• Nankervis not being paid the mark from a short kick from Cotch to about 40m out dead in front in the 2nd. Ump calls not 15. Ffs, when do they ever call those marginal ones going inside 50...Liam Ryan

• Cotch smashed after kicking it inside 50, from about 65m out on the boundary in the 3rd, near side of the ground. Late hit, easy downfield free kick...wasn't paid

In addition to this, Freo were gifted a goal from the softest 50m penalty against Cotch in the 3rd. Their first goal also came from a 7m pass in the middle of the ground that was paid.

Some other ridiculous frees:

• Deliberate against George in the 1st. Potentially the worst free kick of all time
• Tripping against Bolton in the 3rd where the Freo guy falls over him
• In general the HTB frees were a farce. We got pinged a few times with no prior, yet Brayshaw and their ruckman can get spun 720 and drop the ball and it's play on

It's well past the point where we actually get umpired to different standards. Free kick differential, goals for and against from frees, even the statistical analysis that someone on our board did that showed that EVERY SINGLE TEAM somehow gives away statistically significantly less frees when they play us, compared to when they play anyone else. It's ****ing mindblowing.

Also **** Wilson, the guy flops and throw his head back every time there is contact.

How about with 10 seconds to go. Freo defender gets the ball, we instantly tackle him. Ump blows whistle for a ball up straight away, doesn't even bother with seeing if the Freo guy was trying to get rid of it.

Guarantee if that had been down the other end, he would've held the whistle for longer with the home crowd screaming 'ball'.

Have you sent it to the AFL and perhaps the Umpires Association and couteously asked for an explanation how that is even possible? I'm sure the answer would be simplistically based around our contested pressure game. No surprise that the teams with green are all mostly kick and mark teams. We are having trouble reading the tea leaves I think! The rules don't like contests.
