lol at a sympathy post in a thread with 176 replies. Sure, D_One has a little under half of them, but that's still 90 odd replies.

And of those 90, 50 are having a crack at him! So that leaves 40, bored ,sad, lonely stats loving fans!:D
I can't be stuffed, bu I would reckon none of the responses he craves are up to his statistical standards

I reckon it's improving with age. There's some absolute gold in this thread :thumbsu:
I didn't realise you were gay with D-One. Why don't you kiss him if you love him so much?

There is NOTHING funny about this thread :thumbsd:
It's nonsensical

So is you homosexual manlove for D_one!

EDIT: haha, I just saw that your signature says '1870'. Is that the last time you had a BATH? I know what you Port Adelaide supporters are like! You've been exposed, you goose.

have to agree. Very amusing thread, even if it is a the Crows expense.

But to be bad at Finals you do have to make them.

A downside is the wasted opportunites. We should be the best AFL era side in the comp. Two flags for some clubs would be great. D_one has shown for the AFC it is barely a pass mark.:(

Hi VD :)

not sure why you're here mate - I mean you are so sensitive about your beloved crows (or anything you really like) being criticised, that you should avoid upsetting yourself by staying away from threads such as this (if not Bay13 altogether)

how's things btw?

PS - thanks for the laugh. :thumbsu::D you have lifted this thread another rating for me. HUNDREDS!!

xxx

I believe Powerkat is a female.

Believe me - he knows that :)

Its taking a very long time, D one has 3 posts to every other posters 1 at the moment. People stopped caring about this thread 3 days ago. It won't stop D one and his obsession though.

3 posts, you say? You know who else hit 3 posts? Horrie Clover, that’s who. After returning from WWI Horrie wanted to play VFL football. He trained with Richmond and Melbourne before Carlton gave him an opportunity at VFL level. And how he delivered! In his first match in 1920 – ironically, against Richmond - he kicked four goals from centre half-forward, and hit the post three times! Horrie went on to be the league leading goalkicker in 1922, Carlton’s leading goalkicker in 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1926, 1928, Carlton’s Captain Coach form 1922 to 1924 and 1927. He was awarded the Champion of the Colony title in 1921, inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame, was part of Carlton’s Team of the Century. He was Carlton’s Vice President in 1932 and from 1935 to 54, Club Secretary from 1925 to 26. He was even Carlton’s President from 1956 to 57 and remarkably was never charged with a criminal offence. But most of all he was a valued contributor to the successful Carlton team from 1913 to 1920.

Now if only Adam Hunter had hit the post three times in the 2006 prelim. But alas he kicked 4 goals and the Eagles won by 10 pts. So here’s to Horrie Clover and here’s to Adam Hunter.:thumbsu:

Carlton (1913 to 1920) 7 Finals Series, 3 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

32 to go.

Obviously other posters are quite interested or they wouldn't be posting at all in this thread. You care enough to look up that stat.

I'm finding it very entertaining :)

Speaking of entertainment, the AFL introduced pre-match entertainment for its Grand Finals in 1977. That year Barry Crocker had the honour of providing the entertainment. The game itself was not a “Barry Crocker” as it ended in the famous Twiggy Dunne torpedo kick from a set shot 20 metres out to draw the game. North Melbourne went on to win the Grand Final replay. Their last premiership in the successful 1974 to 1981 era.

In 2004 Adelaide resident Guy Sebastian provided the pre-match entertainment. Guy is an Adelaide Crows fan. Unfortunately that is as close as any Adelaide supporter has got to the centre of the MCG on Grand Final day for the period of 2001 to 2008.

Nth Melbourne (1974 to 1981) 7 Finals Series, 5 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

31 to go.

Yeah I know :(, I'm only hear because I am waiting (hoping) that Merv and Fred will let me back on to the main board sometime soon, and I don't want to leave my bedroom. Sorry for snapping at you, and accusing you of not bathing for HUNDREDS of years

I'm well thanks, hop you are too :thumbsu:

*Sigh*

Kirky you are at least able to log onto bigfooty so i assume that reading is not beyond your means. Please read what i have said in the context of this thread, have a think, maybe a cup of tea, a bit of a lay down then try again...

I never said premierships were the only measure of success Elite Crow did, what i was doing was pointing out that by using flags as the only measure of success he had effectively labelled his own team as one of the least successfull in the league...

Yes Port did lose some finals they should have won BUT WE ENDED THAT RUN OF LOST FINALS WITH A PREMIERSHIP! The Crows have successfuly managed to go backwards after losing their finals so far. Which is why D-one rasied this thread.....

Quite correct DrCollossimo. Port did win the minor premiership in 2002 but missed out on the 2002 Grand Final. Likewise Carlton won the 1976 minor premiership and also missed out on the Grand Final that year. The Camry Crows absolutely dominated the home and away season in 2005 and also won the minor premiership and due to poor coaching or poor captaincy or both missed out on the 2005 Grand Final. The difference is Port persevered and two years later eventually won the 2004 premiership. Carlton likewise persevered and three years later won the 1979 premiership. The Camry Crows on the other hand were content with their mid table mediocrity and haven’t been able to redeem their 2005 mistake.

So here's a big congratulations to the Carlton team of 1976 to 1983.

Carlton (1976 to 1983) 7 Finals Series, 3 Grand Finals and 3 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

30 to go.

:D at Guy Sebastian comment.

D...just a question ...did your therapist advise you to do this...ya know...get it all out of your system and then curl up in the foetal position and cry?
There must be some reason...apart from a love of stats, that you are doing this .

I love how these Adelaide supporters are avoiding the subject of this thread and just going off on unrelated ramblings :p

What else can you say when the main poster in the thread believes that finsihing 13th is better than making the finals

I didnt avoid it. Our finals record is sh1t.

Especially in 1993, 2005, 2006 when we gave up obvious chances to win the flag.

Be thankfull for our poor record in September, the only important stat (between our clubs) could well be 5>1 and not 2>1.

I realise that if we won in 1993 history could well be different, Back to the Future style:p

face it crows fans, port adelaide are the best. 35>2, u cant hide from tht stat

Ah 35 again. The 1935 Grand Final was billed to be a close one. South Melbourne won the minor premiership and star full forward Bob Pratt was in good form leading into the game as he had kicked a century for the season. Unfortunately he was forced to withdraw from the Grand Final after he was hit by a truck in trying to cross the road the day before the game. Pratt had booted 362 in three seasons. Without him the Swans lost to Collingwood by 20 points, despite having as many scoring shots as the Magpies. If only the Crows knew at least one well meaning truck driver in WA leading up to the 2005 Prelim. A slow moving bloodnut like Ashley Hansen would have made an easy target. After all he did kick three goals in the West Coast’s 16 pt Preliminary Final victory.

Anyway a big thumbs up :thumbsu: to the Collingwood team of the thirties and to truck avoiding rangas.

Collingwood (1932 to 1939) 7 Finals Series, 5 Grand Finals and 2 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

29 to go.

Sorry mate, this is the AFL 2>1.

Camry Crows supporters are so blessed when it comes to mathematical acumen. Without any trouble or prompting they can readily identify which is the greater of the two integers 1 and 2. However they have a problem reconciling the difference between the mathematical terms “constant” and “variable”.

Constants are things like Archimedes' constant (also known as Pi), Napier's constant (e), Richmond Premcount constant and the golden ratio. And now we can add the Crow Premcount constant. As mathematicians have conclusively proven that if you don’t make the Grand Final your premiership count stays the same, whether you make the finals or not.

There are variables too. One such variable is the Hawk Premcount variable. Here the Hawks have proven that if you compete in Grand Finals on a regular basis then your premiership count will inevitably increase.

Having Camry Crow supporters running around saying 2 > 1 in 2009 is the same as Richmond supporters running up to Hawthorn supporters and saying 10 > 4 at the end of 1980. However due to Richmond’s constant premiership count and Hawthorn’s variable premiership count continually increasing through the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s Hawk fans can now say 10 = 10.

Hawthorn (1983 to 1990) 8 Finals Series, 7 Grand Finals and 4 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

28 to go.

QED

sorry mate, we are the oldest and most successful club in South Australia. cows forever living in our shadow.

Speaking of old (and successful), Michael Tuck was the oldest player to play in a premiership when Hawthorn won the 1991 premiership. At the time he was 38 years and 96 days old.

In the years 1976,1978,1983,1986,1988,1989 and 1991 Tuck played in seven finals series resulting in seven premierships. In the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 another old fart called Simon Goodwin played in seven finals series resulting in zero premierships. This also includes zero Grand Final appearances.

Hawthorn (1987 to 1994) 8 Finals Series, 4 Grand Finals and 3 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

27 to go.

Quite possibly the greatest segue in the history of the internet. :D

Some segues are better than others. Speaking of segues, S. Wayth played his one and only game for Geelong back in 1903. That game was a victory against South Melbourne. This means that Stan Wayth can say that he went through his entire VFL career undefeated. Collingwood was also undefeated for the entire 1929 home and away season. The minor premiers did lose their first final but redeemed themselves by making and winning the Grand Final.

The Camry Crows went undefeated from round 13 to round 22 of 2005 on their way to the minor premiership. They also lost their first final but were unable to redeem themselves.

Collingwood (1929 to 1936) 7 Finals Series, 4 Grand Finals and 4 Flags
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

26 to go.

I commend your persistance D_One..

Glad finally there is a record of finals failure that doesn't involve Collingwood on the poor side of it :)

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Persistence should be commended. Richmond made the finals every year from 1927 to 1931, playing in 4 Grand Finals without winning the premiership. However they persisted and won the 1932 premiership.

Richmond (1926 to 1933) 7 Finals Series, 6 Grand Finals and 1 Flag
Camry Crows (2001 to 2008) 7 Finals Series, 0 Grand Finals and 0 Flags

25 to go.
