It's time to get more positive guys in the wake of what happened last night there is only one solution.......

Unleash Chris "the BEAST" Dawes!!

Has kick two till half time and also missed a couple of others....

The first goal with a niced little side step, thank you very much!

Almost took a massive hanger, this kid CAN play!

MM the time has come.....

Just Unleash the BEAST!!

Go Pies!!:thumbsu:

Agree, he looks fantastic, good strong mark and pretty mobile for a big guy. We need another tall to take some pressure off Cloke.

Would not have hurt our chances last night if Dawes played.
We fell down forward because we did not have another tall target.
Hawthorn are dangerous because they have 2 beasts.
I would not call Dawesy a beast, but he is a big boy and would at least provide a contest.
It helps if you have a tall player providing a contest. Even if he does not take a mark it provides crumbs for the smaller guys.
Davis, Didak and co. would relish having some quality crumbs.
It is no rocket science, but to have an effective forward line you need 2 big guys.
Get the ball out from middle quickly and boot it to one of the talls.
That's why Brisbane were so good in their Premiership years. Quick kick to Lynch or Jonathan Brown.
Even if they did not mark, the ball fell to their crumbers and they took advantage.

Has kicked 4 goals to 3/4 time. Has around 10 marks, not sure how many contested, but I'd say around 4! Has given a few off too, that work in the goal square to beat two defenders, then give it off to Casey-Leigh for a goal was outstanding.

The beast is going to bust off his chain if he's not unleashed soon!

YES!!! FFS what are Lonie, Toovey plus a seemingly injured Leon Davis doing in the side over this bloke? Really has ability. Get him in for heaven's sake. Collingwood are crying out for some of this bloke's spark.

Think back to the Rusling, Rocca, Cloke forward line that was so dangerous at the end of last year - utilise Anthony in the Rusling role, and Dawes in the Rocca role. Its not as talented, but it at least gives us a structure that is much more dangerous than whats going around now.

What if we all e-mailed Collingwood suggesting that they play Dawes? Surely they value fan feedback?

how aboyt if they dont pick him thursday we organise a lynch mob and go down to the lexus centre and make them pick him.. jk.. unless anyone to to join me..:p but from all reports this kid/beast is the tonic our forward line needs in th absence of pebs...

A very reasonable suggestion. I'm with you. And if they won't listen to reason, we'll bring the tar and feathers.

i'm a swans supporter but with links to williamstown, and was aware of dawes, but i saw him properly yesterday for the first time bad .... fck me, if he's not ready to play in your senior side i've never seen football
he was clearly a class above everyone else yesterday, and that includes several other pies who looked pretty good
how old is that defender, crow (is it justin)?
mccarthy, No 27, looked very good
the surfie kid, is it frost, was another, and the big bloke i think at CHF, casey-leigh
i still think you blokes have a terrific young list, but geez, dawes surely has to play seniors soon, he's outstanding (oh, and i've had him as a supercoach reserve forward all season, and been waiting ... sighhhh)

Me to!

He has to play this week. It just makes our structure look so much better. Harder to triple team Cloke with him in the side and will alow quick kicks into the forward line as he will create a contest to alow our small forwards to crumb. Its gotter be better than kicking to Cloke in a 3 on 1 situation.

If Dawes doesn't play this year, he'll be in a lot of SuperCoach teams next year and an absolute bargain at the minimum price. Much like another Collingwood player, Ben Cousins. :D
