You know what's going to happen, right? Jack is going to somehow stay healthy all season, get back to his best, play a blinder of a season, we'll recall him and he'll break his ankle 5 minutes into a friendly against NobodyGivesAShit FC....

Any injuries to report? Be nice if we could finally field a full-strength side..

According to Arsenal Report

Iwobi and Ramsey should be ready to go ‘any day’.

Paulista: 4 weeks

Mert: 5 weeks

Jenkinson: 2 months

Welbeck: 4 months

Bloody hell international breaks are boring.
What are peoples' expected line ups? Mustafi to start? Perez to start?? Would Wenger be so mad as to change formations and start Giroud and Perez together up top???

Too early for Lucas to start you'd think, the problem with buying so late in the window is the lost opportunity to integrate with the squad.

Mustafi much more likely to start. To be fair to Holding he could count himself a bit unlucky to be dropped.

Might be alone in thinking this, but IMO Perez is the more likely of the two to see game time. Has been at the club (and not international duty) on the break.

I think both start on the bench though. It'd be ballsy for Wenger to start Mustafi with Kos without at least a couple of training sessions together.

Agree. Harsh on holding.

Possibly. But we bought Mustafi ostensibly as #1/#2 CB for the next 5 months. No point in sticking him on the bench. And when you're a Germany first 11 player, you're good enough to step into the breach with little or no prep.

How do we rate our summer transfer activity as a whole then?

For me, I think we did the bare minimum. Eventually addressed the glaring squad deficiencies that had been there for a long time. Assuming Perez was signed to play through the middle it was good to see the club have a plan B or C and not just cop out saying 'Vardy told us to get stuffed so I guess there is no one.' But it would have been good to get in another quality forward. Xhaka looks like an excellent signing and Holding has impressed so far, obviously very green though. Remains to be seen how Mustafi and especially Perez will go.

I was slightly surprised that more players weren't moved on (Gibbs, Debuchy, Ospina, possibly Walcott or Ox) but given the difficulty the club seem to have acquiring players that is understandable.

Chambers should have gone out on loan last season so hopefully he can get some much needed experience. I still find the Wilshere move kind of bizarre. Can't help but think that he would have gotten his opportunity at Arsenal and given how fragile he is, it is probably for the best that he doesn't play every game.

The thing about Wilshere is that he may have that body type that needs work to stay in one piece...and because he's never fit for more than 8 minutes at a time, his body never gets the work it needs to STAY healthy.

Oh I agree but its just I think we have 2 better centre backs in the squad at the moment which is gold.
It makes sense. I'd probably still make the change if I was manager. If holding had played about a quarter of the season, I may have left him though barring lack of form.

I do worry about chemistry between both of them but hopefully Wenger works on it this week.

Early days yes, but from what Holding has shown I'd already have him ahead of Gabriel in the queue.

Kos and Mustafi will be first choice (we haven't paid £35m for a centre half to sit him on the bench) but Holding will just about be third choice.

Gabriel hasn't been that impressive. Am tipping one of he or Mertesacker will be gone next summer.
