No mention of where the injury is - knee, hammy, etc?

He’s usually watertight with that kind of thing, just general references to “he felt something” or “muscular injury” etc. Arteta gives very little away, they asked him what type of injury is it and he didn’t disclose. I get the sense it’s not major, similar to Martinelli, but they’re going to keep everyone guessing about the length of their absence over the next few games.

Suppose it may disrupt opposition's ability to plan for us in a small way.

Such a shame for Gyökores, as he played a great game and looked like he was hitting some form.

Yes he just put together his best 45 minutes for the club. I do wonder however if Arteta has learned from prior experience, any knock or doubt on the player and he will pull them out of the firing line. Both Zubimendi and Gyokeres didn’t seem overly concerned post match so the hoping it’s in the minor side of things.

Martinelli I think is a bigger concern. All quiet on that front and he went straight down the race after the match last week. Didn’t reemerge. Let’s see.

This is why the club invested so heavily in the squad. Because as great as the squad options sounds on paper, it’s almost a myth that all are fit/available at the same time. Havertz, Gyokeres, Odeegard, Martinelli, Madueke, Jesus all forwards/attackers out at the moment.

Just hope that once we get to the run in, especially CL knockout stages, that the list is perhaps 2-3 absences rather than 7-8.

Could do worse than Trossard as a CF with Eze and Nwaneri on the wings.

Would prefer it if Saka gets iced for this game, give Nwaneri some minutes out wide and Dowman can make his UCL debut. Can't afford Saka going down too with this many injuries up front.

Very spirited start by them, good press and the crowd atmosphere looks great. They had a shot on target as well which won’t count though due to the offside.

Was that a shot on target conceded in the last play? Damn.

3-0. Merino just finds a way. Terrible goalkeeping for his second however take nothing away from Merino’s ability to consistently find the back of the net.

Great stuff for Dowman. He was hacked down repeatedly in his opening few minutes on the pitch.

Bukayo Saka becomes the FIRST player in Arsenal's history to score in four straight Champions League away games. 🔥

He is also the first Arsenal player on record (since 2003-04) to have 4+ shots on target in the first half of a Champions League game. 🫡

Starboy. 💫
