Great finishes from Merino, and two superb deliveries from Trossard and Rice.

I'm surprised we went with all of Saliba, Gabriel and Timber, but they were staunch and got through the game.

Glad to see Hincapie start at least and play at LB no less. On a side note his new chant seems good - https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/s/pDoHn79wXD

Again I'd just like to remind us that we went from:

CB - Luiz, Mustafi, Sokratis, Mari, Holding, Chambers
RB - post-ACL Bellerin, that French guy, that old Swiss guy
LB - Monreal (no slander), Kolasinac

To:

CB - Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie, Mosquera
RB - Timber, White
LB - Calafiori, MLS

It struck me early in the match how angry this bloke was. Seemed to be yelling at everyone from the ref to his own teammates. Apparently has served a 6 match suspension for punching a referee in the groin, what a ****ing loose unit. They took him off after Merino scored, but loved that moment of Gabriel giving it right back to him. Saliba and Norgaard also came in right after this.

Loved Hincapie shaping up to him despite being half the blokes size too.

It is quite conceivable that if we manage November well, we may be close to full strength come the festive fixtures. 🤞

It may be an advantage over Crystal Palace to exploit if we keep it to two-days between Everton and Carabao Cup QF, considering the strength of our 2nd eleven.

It seems both Arsenal and Palace are trying to bring forward the PL matches scheduled for the Sunday to Saturday. Still wild that Palace would then face the prospect of playing conference league on the Thursday and Saturday (PL) then Tuesday (EFL Cup).

From an Arsenal perspective it would be enormous to have members of the squad back for that period. Jesus back on the grass currently which is great, that could mean he’s available for Palace and he has a brilliant recent run of form against them.

Gyokeres and Martinelli not selected for Sweden and Brazil so hopefully they are available after the break where it’s a home NLD, then Bayern, then Chelsea away.

The Gunners are still due to play at Everton on 21 December in a Premier League fixture and host Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup two days later, but Arteta said: "Hopefully not. I am super optimistic that this is not going to be the case."

Offering more on the fixture congestion, Arteta said: "From every angle - from the Premier League, from the EFL, from Uefa - all the time the only thing that we talk about is the welfare of the players and the supporters. If we want to maintain that principle that cannot be the case - we cannot play Sunday and Tuesday. So we have very positive talks to the clubs and to the Premier League, and hopefully we'll find a way to help as much as possible."
