Ozil will miss up to Spurs I think. Dont know on Gibbs.

Can anyone explain to me why we pass back to Wojciech so much when he is not that good at kicking the ball.

Latro Wojciech's kicking is much improved this season and is currently at 63.9% which I think is above league average. Higher than De Gea who is known for having good distribution.

It is still the weakest part of his game. I am probably his biggest fan on this board.

I just dont get it when a defender has the ball on the halfway line pass it back and then he boots it up to Giroud for a 50/50 ball.

He still suffers from the odd moment of being over confident but I think in general it has improved a lot since the end of last season, though his distribution isn't dangerous and can't be used for counter attacks whereas Fabianski's can. However I like the confidence in his game, it makes him the player he is.

Very happy for Giroud, saw what a relief it was for him. Some hairy moments throughout the game, not particularly comprehensive performance at all but a vital three points at least.

Wenger's update on Ozil:

on how bad [Mesut] Ozil's injury is…
It is an inflamed shoulder, it should be one more week maybe less, I don't know, but not a long time.

Good solid away wins at West Ham and Newcastle.

Now Cardiff (16th) at home on New years day (wednesday), Villa (13th) away on the monday and Fulham (18th) at home the following saterday.

You would expect anything less than 9 points to be dissapointing.

I think we need to put a decent focus into the FA cup this year as opposed to past ones. If we are serious about some silverware, it is probably our best chance.

Been a while since I've pulled out the fist pump and yelled "stick that up ya" at the TV when the final whistle went at 3am, usually a fan of newcastle but after that game I seem to despise their team and fans, does their crowd do anything but boo the opposition and referee? and what does Tiote have to do to get booked?!

Was probably the worst we have played since the opening day, so many misplaced passes and wrong options taken, but those are the kind of games you win if you want titles, and we did so happy today. Rosicky MOTM for me, his chasing down newcastle defenders single handedly in the last 15 mins was great to see.

Impressed by Debuchy, he is the obvious candidate to take over from Sagna if we lose him at the end of the season.

Gibbs was a hamstring strain from what I've heard, who knows how serious, Nacho was ill so he should be in for Cardiff.

How was Rosicky good. He was playing in Ozils role and did not create any chances at all.
Our attack was woeful in general, aside from shots from distance no one really created chances. Defence won us the game, and he was leading from the front chasing the ball around like a terrier when many others were jogging.

No one was outstanding but for me he was the best of the bunch.

He was easily our best attacking player, constantly harassing and chasing players down for the 94mins. He provided an amazing through ball for Walcott who miscontrolled it in the first half as well.

Anyway solid performance, for everyone saying we were under so much pressure it's a good thing that Newcastle still created **** all. 3 games this season we have done that (Spurs, Dortmund and this game) and we have looked solid in Defence and not conceded anything.

Wilshere was better IMO. He was always running at the defense and trying to break it down.

How long has it been since Rosicky has scored or assisted a goal?

In the League he has 0 goals, 1 assist plus 14 key passes in 7+4 appearances, compared to Jack Wilshere's 2 goals, 1 assist plus 17 key passes in 12+4 appearances.

Wilshere also has 2 Champions League goals dont know about Rosicky.

I like Rosicky from a defensive point of view. But the way the team is playing we need more creative players. The team is playing like the end of last season again.

I don't understand why Wenger refuses to play Santi as #10.

He should be playing there especially in the absence of Ozil.

Poldi must start against Cardiff. When was the last time we had two genuine wide players start?

Rosicky's body just cant endure a 50 - 55 game season. Looks like the plan is to utilise him in every alternate game, and if he performs like he did this morning, then that would be ideal.
