Why is it up to Wenger to give his job to someone else? Surely that is up to the board.

I don't think the tone of the article is about Wenger picking Pep as his successor, more along the lines of him convincing Pep to choose Arsenal over United/Chelsea.

Wenger will be around for a few more years after his current contract IMO. Why would he want Pep to replace him next season?

Recent Chelsea affairs has me leaning towards a 0-0 at the Emirates.

I suppose Mourinho no longer being in charge might change that - wouldn't be surprising to see Guus slot Zouma/Mikel/Matic all in front of the back 5 though.

Yeah 3 of the last 4 vs Them have ended 0-0 at the Emirates.

Mike Dean refereed 2 of those 3 draws.

Arsenal/Chelsea matches always have a great buildup, but then the 90 minutes on the pitch either culminate in a 0-0 bore draw or hilarity at our expense.

Arsenal vs Chelsea used to be a fixture I enjoyed between 1998-2004.

Interesting that our wage bill is only £1.3m behind City's. Didn't think it was that close.

Unless City use another entity to put their wages through?

No chance of our wage bill being even remotely close to City's. They have numerous players on £200k p/w+

oh, and Coquelin's progressing well apparently.

With all these players coming back, our bench is going to start looking a lot stronger.

We have two companies that deal with marketing and "football services" (scouting, performance analysis etc). Wages of those staff are on their books and the charge the individual clubs for their services.

The playing squad/coaching etc needs to be on our books though.

Now Henry has started!

HENRY ON ARSENAL TRANSFERS

Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry dropped into Sky Sports News HQearlier to give his views on Arsenal's transfer business.

Here's what the former Gunners striker had to say: "We always talk about whether it is the right time to buy? Are the right players available?

"Mohamed Elneny has just arrived, we all know the role he plays in midfield which is a ‘destroyer’. Danny Welbeck will be coming back and hopefully Jack Wilshere too. There are a lot of players who are yet to return from injury.

"Those players will be like new signings. Right now the team is showing they are good enough to perform. I said a couple of weeks ago that they should go and buy a holding midfielder, and they did. Hopefully the injured players can come back and help the team win the title."
