Well. Why have Man City announced Pep as their manager for next season on January transfer deadline day?? So the biggest threat to Arsenals title hopes will be playing under a dead duck manager for the rest of the season. I see a massive opportunity for us here if we are good enough. Not writing off Leicester or that other mob from North London, but surely this would have to be somewhat of a distraction to the Man City mob. Then again it could make them play out of their socks to make sure they are in Peps plans? I don't know what do you reckon? First things first, lets get 3 points against Southampton. We sure owe them one after that boxing day fiasco.

I just think we simply aren't good enough, we have been playing piss poor for 3 months now ( city and Olympiacos games aside )

He's largely irrelevant to Arsenal, does more of note for country than he does for club. Should cash him in and get in a player who can actually get on the pitch.

Plays 8-12 games out of 55+ a season. He'll be back in late April for his usual cocktease cameo, then will injure himself again in early August just when the real stuff is about to begin.

Should also sell or loan Ox. Neither are particularly reliable.
4 weeks away according to Wenger, we may even see him in March, unheard of!

I'm personally a huge fan of Wilshere, undoubtedly talented and brings something to our midfield that no one else can. But at a certain point you just have to say enough is enough, he isn't worth 90k a week to play 10 games a year.

Good to see Kos fit ....

Well he did hit a hattrick in their tie on the weekend. It can't be a bad thing that he misses.

I can almost guarantee it will be an entirely second XI team that lines up.

That being said, our second XI against Bury was:

Jakupovic
Taylor - Dawson - Bruce - Tymon
Elmo - Meyler - Huddlestone - Aluko
Diomande - Akpom

Which is still a tidy side. Of that you'd suspect Akpom can't play against you so that means a shift of Aluko to up top (or maybe Powell there) and then perhaps Clucas at LM, or Powell up top and Aluko still on the left. Dawson won't play as he'll be first team, which then means probably Maguire at CB. Tymon may or may not hold his spot, in which case maybe Robertson at LB. Maybe Elmo at RB and Snodgrass at RM. Kuciak will probably play in goal, so a lot may depend on whether he's a bit nervous and whether that plays into your hands.

Still quite a decent side considering.

Why play second XI? Why not have a real crack? Fair to say you owe us after the last 2 years?

Time to cash in on Wilshere I think, but we all know what'll happen. He'll go to Citeh, play 90% of their games as he's miraculously long term fit and then dominate against us both home and away.

Just going off how we handled Man City in the League Cup, where our seconds still looked pretty decent apart from a few bursts of class from City. I just think we're too focussed on promotion to get too invested in a Cup run. Bit of debate among City fans though who want to see us really try to push on.

But guys like Hernandez, Dawson, McGregor, Livermore, Diame wouldn't be involved I don't think. Too important.

I'd be staggered if he was back in March. Remember when Wenger said this current injury was a matter of "2-5 days"?

He's usually due for one more setback. Late April is still my prediction.

Coq is the single most important player in our side. Hopefully he shows that tomorrow morning and in the 14 league games after.

2-2. Southampton are on fire, our returning players need one more game back to gel.

No excuses if we don't get the 3 points tonight. There were mitigating circumstances against Chelsea but title contenders don't drop points against Southampton at home. We need Ozil, Ramsey and Sanchez all firing. If this happens it will be 4-0. They are good enough but are they just going to be content with 3rd or 4th again?
