Morata, Higuain, Aubameyang, Griezmann, Lukaku, Benzema.

Some aren't likely to want to move, but the club should be bending over backwards trying to negotiate with players of this ilk.

EPL forward players are generally gash compared to the best in Europe. Need to be looking at youngsters playing in Spain, Italy and France if none of the above can be acquired.

Morata and Higuian would be massive shots if we went hard early. Auba will go to Spain, Griezmann too expensive. We'll be linked to Benzema too and who knows, they may want to use him to fund Auba.

I also wonder if Lacazette had a blinder last season or if he's having a dog this season.

A bit of column A and a bit of column B. For whatever reason, it seems to take leagues an entire season to realise that Player X is tearing it up and has been all season. Player X toasts everyone all season long, the opposition clubs go away in the off-season, figure out Player X, new season starts and Player X seemingly turns to shit.

There's a fair amount of truth in the cliche of 'Second Year Blues' too.

We tried with Benzema - Madrid doesn't want to sell and he doesn't want to leave
We tried with Aubameyang - Dortmund doesn't want to sell and he doesn't want to leave
We tried with Higuain once - Napoli doesn't want to sell him for anything under a ******ed sum of money

Lukaku maybe, but as i said, he's loved Chelsea since like 10 or some shit. He'll end up there again before another Premier League team.

Morata maybe, depending on what Madrid do with their supposed buy back arrangement.

That leaves us with trying to find and develop a youngster which doesn't fix the problem we have right now.....It's not as easy to fix as people are making out.

Then we should develop a quality youngster. Walcott was our starting CF this season - simply not good enough. At worst, buying a Batshuayi or Embolo and developing them can't be a worse option than what we're doing now.

Just because we tried once with some of them (i.e. Benzema) doesn't mean it's done. If Madrid want Aubameyang or Lewa they'll be wanting to offload Benzema. We should be trying for him every window.

Edit: Also, what do people think of Icardi?

Meh. Walcott's just as guilty - should be locked up for fraud and robbery

eh - so predictable. I have given up. It saddens me to say it, but I don't care much for it anymore because it has been the same thing over and over for 10 years now....

Anyone see Morata's run and assist for Juve's second goal? I know Giroud was brought in to be a hold-up CF but **** me, a striker who can run at defenses and drag defenders out of position like that would be handy. We should be throwing £40mil at Juve/Madrid for him.

His lack of goals are a worry.

Realistically who?

We aren't the only club that will be looking for a forward -

Man City have Aguero and nothing else (Bony has been bunk and a bunch of youngsters)
Man united have Martial and nothing else (Depay nothing special, Shrek past it and a bunch of youngsters)
Chelsea have Costa and nothing else (Failcow and Pato-no-games)
Liverpool have that guy that's always injured (Benteke poor, Ings lol, Balotelli crazy and a bunch of youngsters)

Lukaku will leave Everton (despite what their fans think) but he still has a hard on for Chelsea so he'll end up back there.

I'd take a punt on someone like Berahino but i doubt Wenger will.

Zlatan would be an interesting choice as he certainly has the talent but at 35 a) can he handle the Premier league? b) would we be willing to smash our wage structure considering he's on about £1m A MONTH at PSG? He'd be double our highest paid players.

I want a new forward too but it's difficult to see where that player is going to come from.

Zlatan and smash our wage structure, bloke is a freak.

I think that stems from a lack of regular playing time - Juve also have Dybala and Mandzukic (how's that for a striking group?).

I would be very comfortable spending £40mil on him. Would easily hit 14-18 league goals in his first year and improve from there.

Just quietly, Elneny is better and more valuable to us than all of Ramsey, Walcott, Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky (prob 350k of wages there Arsene).

Specifically re: Ramsey and Walcott - simple, efficient & committed beats talented, flashy and gutless every time.

Disagree completely. He and Walcott are mentally weak and crumble under any pressure.

Ramsey bottled it against Schmeichel only a few weeks ago - at 0-0 in the most important game of our season to that point. Injury history or not, you don't pull out of that shit when your club needs it. And that's just one example - I could pick countless from almost every game he's played this year; not just pulling out, but going to water when the heat is on within games.

When there's probably only 6 'world class' strikers currently playing, 4 of them are in spain, 3 at one club, and the other two are on big wages at big clubs who won't let them go, it's really hard to upgrade.

Even when trying to do the next best thing and find a Suarez leaving Ajax, all the best ones by default keep stalling everyone hoping for that offer from Barcelona or RM to come through as their first choice. Hiding to nothing.

Pretty much.

We, like nearly every other club, are stuck in that middle ground. We can't offer the obscene wages of a PSG nor can we promise trophies each season like Juventus, Real, Barcelona and Bayern.

The club gets lamblasted (not by most of us here) for not going out and signing a "World Class Striker" but nobody has put forward a realistic target on who that should be.

If not an out and out striker what about other players we haven't gone for ? Griezzman ( Sociedad to Atletico) ? Dybala( Perugia to Juve) ? Higuain is one striker we didn't want to match Napoli's offer, but would you pay 37 million quid for him ?
