I don't think it was as bad as the commentators made out, they struggle to know the rules half the time

So you want netball? We need to crack down on the tacklers, not the players with the ball.
The one where the commentators crapped on for a minute or two about how there wasn't a handball and it should have been holding the ball, and then when the replay clearly showed a handball they then invented a rule that says the player can't go to ground before handballing? What about when the players all stop from both sides stop playing because they both think it's a freekick? Umpiring was shocking and OP has a point regardless of the method
Hocking needs to fall on his sword. Just another out of touch boomer and a scourge to the game.
Which makes this OP more worthy of notice. If even the winners think the umpiring was shit, then it was shit.Normally a supporter has a meltdown about umpires straight after a game when his team loses, not when they win.
Are you just going to hop from one extreme to another or are you gonna make a valid point? So you want netball?
2 of Essendon's goals were from bullshit frees (Guelfi, Baguley) so no sympathy for them.
I think we can all acknowledge that that game was marred by nothing short of incompetence by the umpires.Normally a supporter has a meltdown about umpires straight after a game when his team loses, not when they win.
Our game is a chaotic, 360-degree non-direction high-velocity stacks-on full contact sport. It's probably the hardest game to umpire that I can think of.
There are probably community noticeboards with this exact ad on them dating back to 1897 somewhere. It's old as the hills and it's trying to solve an unsolvable problem.
Standards cannot improve because you aren't allowed to hold them accountable.
AFL knows umpiring is shit they dont care all they care is the ball going down one end to the other and lots of goals scored.

Funny enough, nobody has managed it yet in 150 years of trying. That's not right, there's huge room for improvement.
